I tried to and it wouldn't let me receive emails but if you send an email that has a picture or music attached to it and you don't have picture texting then no it doesn't cost extra. Just if u don't have any type of texting at all then yes it does cost extra.

It would not cost the iPod user to send them. If the cell phone user pays per text message then they would be charged. If they have unlimited texting or whatever, there would be no cost. Have fun!
