It depends on how much your marching band does, whether you only perform at football games every other week or whether your school does field shows and have a competition every weekend. It also depends on your school's marching band reputation. Colleges usually would know that marching band takes up a lot of time and they'll take that into consideration. It'll look even better if you continued to stick with marching throughout your four years in high school and you are/were drum major, section leader, captain, etc. This shows that you're involved in leadership and that you're commited to marching band, not just being in it. Whether your school's marching band is a small one or a big one with a good reputation, colleges definitely would like it if you stuck to it and how involved you are with it.
Overall, it isn't the fact that you are in marching band versus something like Basketball or NHS. The colleges like to see that you have the deteremination to stick with something. If marching band is something that you want to do, go for it.
It looks good because it shows people that you are involve with an activity, also know the meaning of teamwork. And if you're well enough to be a section leader, drum major, or captain, your application would look even better. This shows that you're involved in leadership and that you're committed to marching band, not just being in it. Whether your school's marching band is a small one or a big one with a good reputation, colleges definitely would like it if you stuck to it and how involved you are with it.
yes
Yes because it will look very good on your application to any college.
Jobs look good. espesially if u get on at a young age.
Well it depends what job application it is for but it would look very good on an application no matter what
Yes it will look good in your college application!
You can't. You could try to go to a Junior college and play for them and then if your good enough , You can submit a application to go to the college that you want and they will take a look in you.
If you are planning on applying to a tier one school(ivy league) then grades need to be very good as well as extracurriculars. If you apply to a tier two school (something like WPI) then leadership goes a long way, with good grades. Standardized test scores matter the most.
It looks pretty good, but it depends on how big the contest was and what grade you were in when you won the award. If it's a huge essay contest and you were in high school when you won, it will look very good especially if you're going to be majoring in something related to writing.
to make the band look good!! :)

Are you good with your hands?
Publications, be on your school yearbook or newspaper class, or a video tech class that broadcasts videos to the school. Anything related to journalism will be fine.
