Yes, he been knowing since Itachi even came, because he remembered what Sasuke said in the third episode and third chapter in the original Naruto manga. Sasuke said he's wanting to kill a "certain someone", which was Itachi Uchiha.

Itachi says their after the 4th's legacy as in his son and when Itachi says that Kakashi thinks "Naruto he's after Naruto."

I also do not believe Madara cares about Akatsuki and didn't tell him.

Yes, he is. It is stated once so far in Naruto Shippuden the TV show, and i think twice in the magna series. Plus the resemblence is unmistakeable. And isn't ironic how the fourth hokage gave the nine tails to a boy who happens to look just like him? Not to mention how Naruto mastered the rasengan, the FOURTH HOKAGES JUTSU, in just five days when it took the fourth hokage himself 3 years?
