Coconut meat is the white part of the coconut inside the coconut. For most people this is the only way they know coconut, the coconut meat. The actual fruit is a hard shelled …nut with "milk" inside the center of the nut. The "meat" is the white sweet edges of the inside of the shell.
By bagged coconut I presume you mean dried coconut, if that is the case then yes you can. If the recipe calls for creamed coconut then mix enough water with the dried coconut …to meet the consistency, if coconut milk is required then use more water until the desired consistency.
One cup of fresh, shredded coconut will have about 280 calories in it.
This food does well when properly stored. Store in an airtight container and place in pantry. This food will keep for a few weeks. Place in the freezer and it will keep for a …few months.
Eat it :)
Coconut is a nut. The white part inside is sometimes called the meat or flesh though.
Yes. Canned may be just a little moister, but not enough to matter.
no its not
I want to substitute 1 cup of shredded coconut for coconut flavoring. How do I measure the flavoring so it's not too much?
This will greatly affect the texture and volume of the cake. Begin with a few drops and taste the mixture.
It will work but it will change the texture. If anybody complains, tell them it is supposed to be like that.
I've never seen shredded coconut in a can. I've only seen it sold in bags in the supermarket. It is found in the aisle with baking products.
it actually depends on the size if the coconut. as an average its 1oz
yes. The fresher it is, the better! Depending what you are using it for.
