The US has a perpetual lease on the land.
Tenants do not own land they just lease it from landlords. The length of the lease can be determined by the two parties.
Cuba is an independent country. It was previously a territory of Spain, but achieved its independence in 1902.
That depends. Some own some rent it.
lease farming is when farmers rent out there land to other farmers and/or other people to feed there own cattle and sheep and so on
If you own land, you work for yourself and you can lease the land to tenants. If you don't own the land, you work for the people who do own the land. Land ownership is important to everyone who wants to be their own boss.

the Americans let the Cubans write their own constitution, but Cuban's had to go by the PLATT AMMERNDMENT this allowed the Americans to have complete controll over Guantanamo Bay.
"Lease to own", Is when you lease a house with the intention to buy it for a discounted price after the lease is over.
The U. S.. owns part of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba,. This part does not allow any Cubans. Actually, the United States government does not own any of the property that makes up the U.S. occupied area of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Following the Spanish/American War, a treaty was established between the Cuban and U.S. governments, and the Cuban government leased the GITMO property to the U.S. for use by the Navy as a staging and fueling point, ultimately becoming a U.S. Naval Station, the only one to ever be established in a communist run country. The lease is in effect 'forever', until dissolved by both the U.S. and Cuban governments, per the original and ammended agreements. Of course, this all took place before the time of former Cuban President Fidel Castro, and the current view of the Cuban government is the lease is not valid (though forcing the issue is not a current priority of the Cuban government). Also, in recent years, the U.S. has been accused of abusing the terms of the land lease by using the property for purposes other than those originally agreed upon between the two governments, i.e., U.S. Navy wargames and the establishment of a prison facility for U.S.-accused terrorists. Since the late 1950s, the Cuban government has prohibited Cubans from seeking and securing employment on the U.S. leased property.
Assuming that you own the buildings, and the landlord owns the land beneath the buildings, the answer is yes, if the lease agreement allows it. Check your agreement for conditions where a landlord can force you off his land.
Ground rent lease means you own the house but someone else owns the actual property that the house sits on; therefore, you must pay the owner rent on that land. If you don't own the ground rent, you can purchase it.
The CHA does not own the land that the Lathrop Homes currently sits on. Rumors I've heard indicate that it is privately owned with a lease to the CHA which is about up. The owners want the land back for redevelopment for highest and best use. The CHA has no rights over the land once the long-term lease is ended within the next year or so. Ongoing rumor, the lease was also not supposed to be renewed in 2000. A lot of work was done on the project when the lease was last renewed. I would expect the project to remain for a while.
