Does the close door button on a Otis elevator work?
by putting two rubber stoppers on the rope that pulls the elevator up or down
Otis Elevator Company does not have a ticker symbol. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Technologies, whose ticker symbol is UTC.
Here is the answer directly from Otis: "The Shuffle button is used only by Otis Technicians when they need to change the placement of the lower/upper deck elevators. It allows… them to safely board the lower deck car top from the main lobby. A special code is required from the Elevator management system to allow shuffle operation to be activated." Keep in mind that the elevators in question are double-decked and serve two floors at once.
The button is used to allow the elevator doors to be open in a safe way and allow the building security etc. to know you are there and need rescue.
elisha was American and was the actual inventor of the elevator break in 1850
Why does a garage door remote open the door successfully but when you try to close the door the remote does not work and the door must be closed using the wall control in the garage?
Most garage door opener manufacturers adhered to new federal guidlines imposed buy the government in the early 90's to include 2 safety devices in each opener to avoid cru…shing injuries. Most of them use photo eyes you might notice mounted towards the bottom 6 inches of the track that the garage door rides in, ( near the floor on either side of the door). These are used to detect if there may be an obstruction in the path of a CLOSING door. IF these photo eyes cannot see each other (the beam of infra-red light between them is interupted), the opener is programmed to allow the door to close as long as someone push and holds the wall button in throughout the downward travel of the door. This forces an individual to observe the downward movement of the door, thus, hopefully preventing an injury or property damage. Usually these photo eyes will have small LED lights on them. IF both LED lights are on, this means the photo eyes can see each other, if not, try adjusting or bending the brackets until they are lined up and lights can be seen on each photo eye. This is a very common problem. It sometimes only takes a slight bump to knock them out of alignment. If this doesn't work, make sure the wiring from the photo eyes up to the opener is in tact and connected securely. Don't worry about a shock, most openers use low voltage for this system. Answer2 A hit it right on the head. but if somehow that still does not help, sometimes check to see the sensors are not dirty or sometimes have spider webs, that also causes a problem. These are both correct you will also have some of them having problems during the day but not at night most of the time this is caused by the sunlight shining in on the receving side. Easy fix is to swap the sensors

No. Otis has purchased many companies over it's long history, but Thyssen Krupp Elevators is not one of them.
When you press the button, a microswitch creates a circuit. That circuit sends a signal to the elevator controller, which is a computer that runs the elevator. Instantly, the …controller powers the light inside the button, which is usually an LED. At the same time, the elevator is dispatched to your location based on a mathematical formula. Once the elevator arrives, the LEDs in the button are turned off. Buttons vary greatly, but a generally divided into vandal resistant or plastic. Vandal resistance is typically defined as a metal button that lands on solid metal when depressed. See www.epco.us for examples of many kinds of buttons.
The Otis elevator brake was built to suspend the car safely in the shaft if an elevator cable snapped. Otis started experimenting on how to make the brake by placing a wagon s…pring above the hoist platform. Then, he attached a ratchet bar to the guide rails on the sides of the hoistway. The lifting rope was next fastened to the wagon spring so that the weight of the hoist platform held just enough tension on the spring to keep it from touching the ratchet bars. However, if the cable snapped, the tension would be released from the spring. It would then immediately engage the ratchets, preventing the platform from falling.
If the remote locks the door properly that tells me that the wiring and the lock solenoids are operating OK. I'm also taking it for granted that the switch you spoke of is the… door lock switch on the drivers door. Does the passenger door switch work properly? If so, then you probably have a bad switch on the drivers door. (IMPROVE) You can remove the door lock mechanism from the panel and gently pry open. Carbon build-up is common on the switches. Use a pencil eraser to remove the carbon and ensure the switch functions properly. Re-assemble.
Elisha Otis invented a device that is a safety feature forelevators if the cables break. He started working on elevatordesigns in 1852, as requested by his employer Josiah Mai…ze.
Check the fuse for the cig lighter.
You must remove door panel, then ensure the door lock actuator is connected to the door lock latch. If not replace or repair, if it is properly attached, then you need to repl…ace the door lock actuator. This involves removal of anything securing the actuator to door, including electrical connector. It may be held in by rivets, if so you may use nut's and bolts when installing new part (just ensure the length of the bolts do not interfere with window movement).
