yes, they are part of the big company, Unilever so read the back of all soaps and shampoos and stuff that you buy and if they say Unilever at the bottom of the back or where all the writing and information don't buy it. another good thing to do is research on Google which companies test on animals and when your in the shop read the back of the product to see if it is tested on animals
The Dove website states they "aim to minimize the number of animals used [when testing]". See below for the extract from their website.
"Unilever, which manufactures Dove is committed to the elimination of animal testing. It is equally committed to consumer health and safety, and to the safety of its workforce and the environment. Where some testing is required by law or currently unavoidable, we aim to minimize the number of animals used.
In pursuit of these goals, Unilever on the one hand applies strict internal control procedures to ensure that animal testing is only carried out when no alternatives are available, and on the other hand invests in developing and applying alternative approaches to replace animal testing in safety assessments for consumer products.
By adopting this dual approach, we advance the elimination of animal testing and reduce the number of tests to the absolute minimum. We provide transparency both in the use of animals and in the progress made in developing alternative approaches. "

I know that Dove does do animal testing. However, nothing is ever impossible. I believe that with enough protesting and complaints, Dove and many other huge beauty brands will become free of any form of animal abuse. To write a complaint or a suggestion to Dove, visit their website (you can find it on google...) and try to find their mailing lists. If that does not work, you can search up their address on the internet and write them a letter or an e-mail. Together, we can make this world a better place for everyone!
Avon has recently resumed testing on animals.
