Explain the problems militating against the effective practice of educational technology in Nigeria?
One major problem in Nigeria is overcrowding in the cities. Schools are overcrowded as well, and it becomes harder to add technology into the classroom when it is hard enough to accommodate the needs of all the students in the classroom. The government is also less willing to invest in educational technologies if the money currently spent on education is doing a seemingly satisfactory job, and the money can be better spent elsewhere.

the major problems are simply: 1. inadequate funding 2. Inadequate resource person 3. Poor Curriculum content 4. poor methology 5. inadequate ins…tructional materials 6. poor societal perception
One of the effects of militancy is lack of employment. Another effect of militancy in the Niger delta is an erosion of investor confidence.
The number 1 negative effect is that people are not doing their own work anymore. Today more and more students are relying on the web to do the work for them. This can range f…rom copying and pasting (plagiarism) to paying a web site to write a paper for them. Studies have also shown net-based readers (people who do the majority of their reading on-line) are less able to determine what is and is not a valid source and are less skilled in critical reading and thinking. Some science and technology are harmful to the earth--example pollution by artificial toxic chemicals, atomic bombs, "development" that threatens extinction for many species, sonar that kills dolphins--the list goes on. Responsible scientists and technologists can work to remedy the negative effects!
There are so many problems of business education in Nigeria, to mention some: 1. Lack of adequate business facilities and resources; 2. Lack of good mentor; 3. Inability… of individuals to practice entrepreneurship; 4. Fear of the unknown. To overcome these problems, we need to try and do the following: 1. Business Facility and Resources - This is the bedrock of business education in any western world. To be sound in business, we need to equip our self with the right facilities that will aid our education and give the student free access to this facilities. In addition to this point, serious students will use the available resources to source for useful information that will improve their business knowledge. 2. Mentors: Nigeria Business Education need good mentors. These mentors will guide the students in the right direction in achieving greatness in their educational part.
People can access pictures and documents from their homes even if they don't have the references in paper format. Presentations, classes, and meetings can be shown/held remote…ly. Questions can be asked electronically. People in rural communities can now get a degree from a University without having to uproot their lives. Students can use vast informational resources from their own homes. More people are learning on demand... want to know something, find it out... now. In a lot of ways, the anonymity of the online community is a great equalizer. Students are bullied and picked on less, and are less reluctant to ask questions online. A twelve-year-old and a 30-year-old can be equals in a classroom setting in most ways that matter for learning to take place. Handicapped students get treated fairly. No one laughs at the fat kid. No one makes faces because one of the kids has crooked teeth, or dresses funny, or has bruises on her face. ... In other ways, of course, anonymity removes some peoples inhibitions and some people are ruder online than they would ever be in person. ... there are definitely trade-offs... but the fact that some people interact, where they wouldn't even have a chance to, or would be too ashamed to, in "real" life, makes it a *huge* thing for education. In many cases, having to type answers makes people think about them more. Not always, but often, you will get more thoughtful responses online. Even in face-to-face classrooms, the advent of data projectors and advanced video equipment makes the possibilities of the classroom expand. Cutting-edge "viral" education can be injected into even the most mundane classes... because our world is infused with technology. Almost all students have cell phones. If you put clues in a lecture, a handout, or a presentation, and lead students to a website or ask them to text something... many will, and it will spread outside the class. Viral education, if used well, will get students outside your class to come and learn something too. As with almost anything, technology can be used for good *or* evil... it is neither of those things in itself, by itself. If we use technology to advance education, to spread it, and use it in appropriate ways... it is a powerful, powerful tool. *so* much more than moving a 50-year old lecture to powerpoint... so, so much more...
