Where can you play hockey?

User Avatar

If you live in Europe, you can usually start playing field hockey at your primary school (grades kindergarten and up.) I don't live in Europe, so I will let someone else elaborate on that.

If you live in the USA (where I live), field hockey usually starts at the middle school/junior high level (grades 7-8). Depending on where you live, you can sometimes play as a recreational, "fun" kind of thing at a rec center or go to camps hosted by your local middle/high school. This is usually more common on the east coast and in California.

Once you begin playing more seriously, you can join a club. There can be any number of clubs in your area. With your club team, you play with others from all around your area, and you go to tournaments such as the Disney Field Hockey Showcase for U16 and U19 teams, held in February (there is also a Jr. Showcase held in July for U14), and National Field Hockey Festival (held over Thanksgiving, in November.)

Who are the greatest college hockey teams of all time?

User Avatar

Asked by Mangani99

The best college hockey player was Tommy Ross from Michigan State. The Michigan born forward was fast, small and agile. He played for MSU from 73-77 and all Division 1 hockey scoring records. Unfortunately his small stature did not help his quest for the NHL. Tommy currently resides in the Detroit area where he coaches in a youth hockey program. Unless you're talking about goalies in which hands down Ken Dryden holds the title. In fact Dryden was probably better than Ross period, since Cornell only lost 4 times (twice in the frozen four) in the three years he started for Cornell and never finished lower than 3rd in the country. Also you could say Hobey Baker, but its probably Dryden.

What percentage of New England Prep School hockey players will go on to play Division one college hockey?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

At my school two years ago, 75% of the entire team had repeated a grade. It simply allows for the player and team to be bigger faster and stronger. But overall the number is lower, but if I had to give a percentage, I would say around 50%.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Hockey Stick ValueIts hard to say, if the entire team signed it and its an original it could fetch thousands of dollars.

It depends on what collectors are willing to pay. You would get more for it if you sold it in the Toronto area, given that Toronto is a leafs town.

Good body coordination, upper- and mid-body strength, aerobic and anaerobic fitness, speed, and commitment are what I would look for. Good reflexes and spatial awareness are also quite important to have.
