Is seeing an unlicensed massage therapist illegal in California?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes, in California, it is illegal to receive massage therapy services from an unlicensed massage therapist. According to the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC), all individuals who provide massage therapy services for compensation in California must be certified by CAMTC or hold a local permit or license issued by a city or county. This certification ensures that the massage therapist has met specific education and training requirements, passed a background check, and adheres to ethical standards and regulations set by CAMTC.

Receiving massage therapy from an unlicensed practitioner not only puts you at risk of receiving substandard or unsafe treatment but also contributes to the proliferation of illegal and unregulated massage businesses, which can be associated with various illicit activities, including human trafficking and exploitation.

Therefore, it's essential to verify that your massage therapist is licensed by CAMTC or holds a valid permit or license from the local jurisdiction before scheduling an appointment.

How far in advance do you need to signal a turn?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Motor vehicle laws differ from state to state. Some states do not have a law informing drivers as to how far in advance their turn signals need to be activated. A good rule of thumb is to signal in no less than 100 feet before your turn. This is also a courtesy to other drivers, so they are aware of your next move.

What California mountain range is formed as a tension stress?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In Earth geological processes there is no such thing as TENSION Just changes in the magnitude and direction of compressive forces (the main one being Gravity which is ALWAYS normal to the earths surface - it is what makes the planet round).

Cracks in rocks form because rocks contain fluids (water) which act hydraulically (they exert the maximum pressure in ALL directions) not because the rock is cracking under tension.

Therefore NO mountain range can be the result of tension stress.

Most mountain ranges are the result of crustal compression/thickening (fold mountains like the rockies) but mountains can also be formed where there is a regime of crustal thinning. These are called horsts.

Where can a 16 year old get a job in Santa Rosa CA?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Lots of places! The South Bay has a good job market (I live in San Jose), so you should have a pretty easy time. I'd check out some of the "nicer" restaurants and stores in downtown San Jose. You could also try at a hotel or even museum (or other tourist attraction). And if you live pretty close, I would definitely look at Santana Row or the Valley Fair Mall. The last time I was at Santana Row there were several restaurants and stores that needed salespeople or waitstaff. Most of the nicer places will pay above minimum wage (and if you get a job at one of the art or jewelry stores, you may get a comission as well), and if you like your employer and your employer likes you, you could certainly get a promotion. You might want to see if there's any of the technology companies need people to run errands or do some organizing. It may not be the most exciting job, but it would be in a nice environment and, if you're into computers, you'd pick up a lot of interesting information. Best of luck!
