A polygon is a plane figure whose boundary is formed by straight lines. The simplest example is a triangle. A square, rectangle, kite, etc are common 4 sided polygons. Polygons can have angles that are greater than 180 degrees (reflex angles), so a 5 pointed star is a ten sided polygon. There is no limit to the number of sides a polygon can have.
If all the sides and angles of a polygon have the same measures, it is called a regular polygon.
First of all it is NOT 'pie', that is the meat pie or apple pie that you eat. The circular 'pi' is 'pi' (small/lower case) . 'pi' is the Classical Greek letter for lower case 'p', and means 'constant of **P**roportion'.
To find the circumference of a circle the equation is
C = pi d
Circumference equals 'pi' X the diameter.
or
C = 2 pi r
Circumference equals 'pi' X '2' X the radius.
Remember the circle equation
C = pi d
To find 'd' the diamter , algebraically rearrange .
d = C/ pi
d = 6 incnhes/ 3.141592....
d = 1.9098593147.... inches
d ~=~ 1.9 inches
4 triangles
Where is 'D'? Is it inside or outside the triangle?
7
YES!!!
The 'quad' prefix means '4'.
However, quadrilaterals can have different names , depending on their characteristics.
Square
Reactangle
Rhombus
Parallelogram
Trapezium
Kite
Remember
Exterior angle = 360 / No. of sides.
Hence
Exterior Angle = 360//25 = 24 degrees,
It follows that the intertiot angle is 180 - 24 =156 degrees.
There are 15 interior angles
Hence 15 x 156 = 2340 degrees is the sum of the interior angles of a 'Pentadecagon'.
A pentagon is a FIVE sided plane figure.
Those five sides can be all the same length ; hence it is a REGULAR pentagon.
or the five sides can be of different lengths ' hence it is just pentagon.
To test use PYTHAGORAS ; h^2 = a^2 + b^2
34' is the longest side (h) , hence 34^(2) = 1156
a & b are 16 & 30
Hence
16^() + 30^(2) = 256 + 900 = 1156 , which equatres with 34^(2) . Thereby satisfies the Pythagorean Equation. Hence it is a Right angled triangle.
So the sides 16,30, & 34 form a right triangle.
C = pi d
By algebraic rearrangement
d = C / pi
You're supposed to know that
Circumference = (pi) x (diameter)
Divide each side of this equation by (pi) :
Diameter = Circumference/pi
And you also know that Diameter = 2 x Radius .
2 x Radius = Circumference/pi
Divide each side of that one by 2 :
Radius = Circumference/2 x pi .
and that's exactly what you need.
Two methods to try .
#1 Use pythagoras h^ = a^2 + a^2 NB THis is only good if you know that the two unknown sides are the same length.
#2
Use trigonometry (trig.) This is good if you know the hypotenuse and one of the angles.
Sine(angle) = opposite/ hypotenuse
Hence
opposite side = hypotenuse X sine(angle)
Similarly
Cosine(angle) = adjacent / hypotenuse.
adjacent side = hypotenuse X Cosine(angle)
Here is an example
If you known the hypotenuse is a length of '6' and the angle is 30 degrees.
Then
opposite = 6 X Sin(30)
opposite = 6 x 0.5 = 3
So the length of the oppisute sides is '3' units.
NB DO NOT make the mistakes of saying Sin(6 X 30) = Sin(180) Nor 6 x 30 , nor Sin(6) X 30 , nor any other combination.
You MUST find the SINE of the angle , then multiply it to the given length.
Similarly for Cosine and Tangent.
True. If all sides are congruent, and each angle is 90 degrees(keep in mind that in a four sided polygon, it adds up to 360), then the polygon is a square. All the square's sides will be proportional to each of the other squares sides, which makes it similar.
For example, if one square has a side length of 2, and another has a side length of 4, then the proportion would be 2\4, or 1\2. Since each side is congruent, then each side would be proportional. If you are proving, the squares diagonal, then the square, then it would be still proportional. Remember it would be a 45-45-90 triangle, with two angle bisected, and one left alone. 45-45-90 triangles are equal to the proportion x-x-x \/(2) (square root of two). So 2\/2 would be proportional to 4\/4 proving that any combo in a square would make it similar.
I hope this helps :D

It has 2 sides of 5 cm and 2 sides of 6 cm so the perimeter is 22 cm
Since there is no shaded part, the answer must be that its area is 0 square units.
