Homo Habilis

Believed to be the first hominids to create and use tools. These creatures lived on the African continent from about 1.5 million years ago until around 1 million years ago. Homo Habilis possibly lived alongside Australopithecus. However, their larger bodies, and superior brains would have given them a clear survival advantage.

. Australopithecus, Homo habilis and Homo erectus are different from Homo sapiens because the Homo sapiens have a larger brain mass and larger skull structure. The modern human today is related to the early homo sapiens but back then they where a lot shorter and more robust than we are today. And the Australopithecus africanus, Homo erectus and Homo habilis where they had ape like brains but human like jaws and were bipedal.

Homo habilis daily life?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Homo erectus was probably the first hominin to live in a hunter-gatherer society, and anthropologists such as Richard Leakey believe that erectus was socially more like modern humans than the more Australopithecus-like species before it. Likewise, increased cranial capacity generally coincides with the more sophisticated tools occasionally found with fossils.

There is also evidence that they cooked their food.

What shelters did the homo habilis live in?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

sometimes used caves as shelters, they often built shelter's out of tree branches. With their chopping tools they hacked branches from young trees,

probably trimming off the twigs, and then they poked the branches

into the ground in rough circle, holding them in place by piling rocks

against them. The tops of the branches were probably bent and twisted together so that the finished hut was more or less tent shaped. the remains of such a hut has been found holes made by branches that were pushed into the ground, rocks that were once piled against these branches, and a circle of stones in the center where a fire was kept burning. but although these people could build crude huts, they did not live together in villages.

What are some fragrances that can attract men?

User Avatar

Asked by Nami

Anything that smells like food. Charbroiled steak is very good at attracting most men. While there are some phermones that work on a subconscious level, those scents have not been generated commercially and on a large scale, even though some of the cologn manufacturers would claim otherwise. In general, the scent of a clean, freshly scrubbed person is always appealing.

Socially food is correct as the above poster stated. Personally a soft smelling cologne (not a perfume that is strong and can gag the poor guy.) Some beautiful perfumes are "White Musk" (sold at the Body Shop) and White Shoulder's as well as White Diamonds. I alternate between White Musk and White Shoulders and have had both men and women come up and ask "what is that beautiful perfume you are wearing.?" The soft scent is "just there" and not over-powering.

What are the five stages of hominids?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are no so called "Stages" of evolution. Evolution is a natural prossess by which man evolves naturally. A simple example is a child growing up to be an adult, or a tadpole first growing legs then through the natural Law of Evolution becomes a full grown frog. Evolution then is a constant continual change in all things.

I do however agrees that certain changes in all things can be referred to as "Stages" but it is not the correct term. Stages always bring to mind that something starts then stops then starts again instead of being a steady flowing of change.

Who is the closest relative to modern humans homo erectus or Australopithecines or Cro-Magnon or Homo habilis?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

"Human beings (that's us) are known as homo sapiens sapiens. DNA testing has shown that the closest relative of human beings is Neanderthal Man (homo sapiens neanderthalus). Neanderthal Man is now extinct. The closest living of human beings now is the chimpanzee. Neanderthal Man was a much closer relative to us than the chimpanzee." =============================

Mitochondrial DNA testing shows that Neanderthal WAS NOT a genetic ancestor to modern H.Sapiens - but only similar kind of species . Refer to National Geographic:

http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/neanderthal-code-3228/04#tab-evolving-view-4 ============================= I hope I did not give anyone the impression that Neanderthal man was our ancestor. The relationship is more like a cousin. How close a cousin Neanderthal man was to us is a good question, but Neanderthal Man was much closer to us than is the chimpanzee.
