Where is the fuel filter on a 2004 Hyundai Accent?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The fuel filter is under the back seat. It's only a $5-10 part and is really easy to replace. When you lift up the back seat on the passenger side you will be able to see the filter and the pump. There are 2 quick-connects and an electrical connection. Before you disconnect anything, pull the fuel fuse out of the fuse box and crank the engine a couple times to relieve the pressure. Then disconnect the battery and replace filter. Hook battery back up and replace fuse. It will take a little longer than normal to start the car the first time until the fuel pressure builds back up. This is normal.

Open loop fault during idle on a hyundai.what does that mean?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Means the PCM has detected a fault with the closed loop system, and is operating in open loop fault.

Open loop is a program that the PCM runs during start up, and continues to run until the PCM decides the o2 sensor is hot enough to be relied on for fuel control.

closed loop runs relies on the o2 sensor for fuel control.

open loop fault happens when an error is reported.

look for O2 sensor DTCs.

How many miles can you go when the low fuel light comes on in a 1998 GM Sonoma?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Don`t Know The Miles; But As Soon As You Can Get Fuel. If You Run With Low Fuel That Is Not Enough To Keep The Fuel Pump Cool ( in is in the gas tank & cooled by the gasoline that covers it) it can get too hot and go out. Costing Very Much To Replace. Hope This Helps

Answer: on mine if it is sitting dead on E you have about a mile and a half and you stop.

Where is the intake-air-temp sensor on a 2002 hyundai accent located?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

usually its in the air box, with 2 wires out the back

Not Accurate

On a 2002 Hyundai Accent the IAT is bundled with the MAF sensor located on the throttle body. However, which wires are which I'm not sure.

Not Precise

The 2002 Hyundai Accent 1.6 DOHC doesn't have a MAF sensor!

2002 1.6 DOHC has the IAT integrated into the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.

2002 1.5 SOHC has the IAT integrated to the MAF.

The 2 wire separate sensor is only on 1999 model year and older Accents.

Is the 3G Rio's are negatively or positively grounded as I am going to be putting a ham radio in my car and it is one thing that the radio manual asked about.?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

My suggestion is to take your voltmeter, measure the voltage between the center

pin and shell of the cigarette lighter socket in the car, and note the polarity there.

The shell is the grounded side of the lighter socket.

How do you change the fuel filter on a 2000 Hyundai Accent?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

most likely the filter is under the access panel under the rear seat.my 2002 accent is this way.remove 2 bolts between upper and lower seat.remove seat.carefully pry panel out.unplug sending unit.this also has power wires to fuel pump.start car.engine will run for a moment then die.repeat until it will not start.disconnect battery ground lead.the filter will have quick locking connectors ,2 tabs 1 on each side of connector.start with easiest one on filter first.keep a rag handy,to pick up spills, there might be residual pressure, mine did not but some gas came out anyway.keep a fire extinguisher handy.the other side of the filter is slightly under the sheet metal so follow the hose and remove from sending unit, filter will now come out with the hose, dont forget to unplug the ground wire.remove hose from filter by pressing the locking tabs.reinstall the hose the same way it came off, you will hear a click when the locking connectors are correctly installed ,on the new filter, now the filter n hose can be replaced in the car the same way you took it out.replace access panel n seat only after you started n ran your car to check for leaks.p/s dump a couple of glasses of water on the fuel tank area after you installed the filter n hooked up the wires to chase away any fuel that may have spilled in that area, then run the car.be safe n good luck

What should be changed to clear a P2096 trouble code from a 2005 Hyundai Accent?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Post Catalytic Converter O2 Sensor seems to be the most likely issue.

Could also be the catalytic converter, or an exhaust leak.

The cheapest part to throw at it is the O2 Sensor. (cheapest place I've found to get them is autopartswarehouse com)
