Answer . You do not have to remove it, but doing so will make the boot replacement a whole lot easier. Being able to clamp the axle in a vice is much nicer than trying to work around the front suspension pieces.
On the bottom of the engine.t is not in the engine compartment the fuel filter is located along the inside of the frame passenger side rear

On the back corner of the transmission pan towards the passenger side a little higher up on the pan is the fill plug. There are two plugs so do not open the one on the bottom because that is the drain plug. You'll need something like a siphon pump to fill into the plug hole. You can get one at...
Regarding oil consumption, synthetic oil is far superior for lubrication than petroleum based oil BUT it has a smaller molecule, one reason why it is superior, and is therefore more easily consumed by the engine. These Isuzu engines consume more oil because of their PCV system. Misted oil from the...

How do you change the transmission fluid on a 2001 4x4 Isuzu trooper
== Answer == You don't. It's a sealed unit. You can't even check it. If it's leaking take it to a dealer or transmission shop. My advice if your having transmission trouble is to trade it in. Most places can't fix it worth a darn! == Correct Answer == ...

== Answer == If you haven't purchased a repair manual that will guide you through this procedure and read it completely before starting, PUT THE TOOLS DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM THE CAR !!!!! This can be a difficult and disasterous job if done improperly.
Yes, there is a diagram of the oxygen sensor location of a Isuzu Trooper. This diagram can be found in the cars maintenance manual.

I don't know about yours, but my 2000 does the same and it it usually because I didn't tighten the gas cap after filling up, and on occasion it did't go out until I changed brand.
Crankshaft sensor on a 1994 Trooper is located behind the passenger side motor mount near the bottom of the engine. If you look behind the front passenger wheel and behind the suspension support, your can see the sensor and wire. It is a tight fit to remove it.
how to set the timing on 3.5 liter engine on a trooper 98
You can find the PCV valve, on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The PCV valve will be attached to the back of the housing.
My fuel filter is located under the hood in front of the engine. It's about 6-8 inches long.
Possibly a plugged catalytic converter? Or Base timing is way off, air fuel mixture is incorrect. My Tooper was doing the same, get some throttle body (fuel ingector) cleaner and put it in with a full tank of gas. After about a 1/4 of a tank of use, it starts right up no prob.    ...
i have a 1990 Isuzu trooper as well and the speedometer and odometer also quit working, they both come off of a mechanical cable that is attached to the drive train. that cable breaks, and you lose both speed and odometer indications. they are extremely difficult to find, so if you do, write me back...

Bank 1 is the side that cylinder 1 is on, sensor 1 is downstream and sensor 2 is upstream
not too hard. You need a bucket, 12mm socket, 17mm socket extension, offset box end, a jack, phillips screwdriver, vice grips. If possible run the tank dry. If not place the bucket below the drain [plug in the tank and drain the gas out. Hopefully the bucket is large enough to take all the gas. You...

On the Signal Assembly there is only ONE screw which is right on top, near the headlight. It looks like a little arm sticking out, unscrew it. Now, on the passenger's side signal assembly, pull from <----RIGHT to LEFT gently in between the crack of the Headlight and the Signal Assembly. In other...

Assuming your motor is a 3.2 L, it's in the block on the passengers side slightly rear of the motor mount. Its held on by on bolt with a 10mm head on it. If you shine a flashlight through the wheel well over the frame part and under the exhaust manifold you should see that lil sucker there with a...
Remove the positive battery cable first. The starter is on the passenger side of the engine. Might be easier to get to from below. Remove the bolts holding the wiring to it than the bolts that mount the starter in place. Be careful if it has shims that you make sure you...
== Answer == this is just a shot in the dark but do you have to much oil in your car? also if the head was ever warped (ie from a blown head gasket) the surfaces in between the heads and the engine block could be uneven creating a weak spot were the gasket would usually...
== Answer == The 99 Trooper is considered a "sealed trans", it does not have an available dip stick to check the fluid levels. To add transmission fluid, locate the transmission main pan from under the vehicle. You will see 2 large bolts, one at the top corner of the pan, one at the...
== == You still have to appear in court, on the "court date" and ask the Prosecutor if the ticket can be with-drawn, based on it's "defects". If the vehicle plate number is correct, and it is registered to you, he may have the officer re-write the ticket on the spot and you will still...
My 1990 Isuzu Trooper II holds 20.5 US gallons.

This is an easy one. 1) remove battery cables 2) remove screws aroun steering column 3) try to start car one more time 4) buy a Haynes repair manual for the vehicle
5w-30 is the best to use on the trooper, i take it, it is the 3.0DT? Its a very fickle engine and doesnt like any other type
You have to remove the exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold on starter side. Now you have access. Get exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold gasket first, you will probably need to replace it after taking them apart.
Should only be 2 bolts-1 at 6 & 1 at 12 o' clock. Remove those & wires from back (disconnect batt first) & just R&R. Belt has to come off first. Alt will swing sideways once you loosen top bolt or if serpentine, just pry on idler to get slack with pry bar. If serpentine, make sure...
From the generator over the idle pulley the over the power steering pump pulley then down aound the bottom of the ac compressor, up and over the water pump, around the bottom of the crankshaft then up over the tensioner, ending at the underside of the generator.

I recently had to replace the fuel pump on my '89 Trooper. Sadly, it resides inside the gas tank and is very expensive to replace ($800-$900 with labor). Even if you find the part used (which isn't recommended with fuel pumps) you're still going to find that next to replacing the trans, it's the...
== Answer == I'm almost certain you will find it in the gas tank. I have an '88 Trooper and had to replace the fuel pump, and had to drop the gas tank to do it. If you get a Haynes repair manual, it will walk you through the process, it isn't that difficult. Obviously, the less fuel...
== Answer == There isn't really a diagram that is all that good I've found. I just did mine. Remove the wheel. Remove the bolt (I think it's a 10mm) on the caliper and remove. Pull out old pads and replace with new pads. You will need to compress the rear...
If it is a four cylinder, it is just behind the carbuetor. To remove it, the book says to remove the intake manifold first. That's hockey-poo. Just jack up the right side, take off the tire, lift up the fender liner and there it is!
I had a similar problem while stranded up in San Francisco last year and I looked for a day and a half crawling around on my back underneath. The strangest thing and the oddest place for a fuel filter on my 89' at least. I went to the rear wheel well, passenger side, and it was just inside of well....
The rims match an 89 Nissan Pathfinder for sure.
Answer . The flywheel is held on with multiple bolts. I think you will find that the bolt holes on the flywheel will only align one way on the crank shaft, just keep rotating it around until you can start 2 bolts and it will be there.
  I have a 1994 4wd 3.2 liter v6? It takes 5 and 1/2 quarts whenever i get the oil changed.
If like the 2000. it is in the rear on the left side, there is a door there and the jack is inside.
Assuming you mean crank position sensor, it tells the ignition control module the position of the crankshaft so the module can tell the correct coil to fire at the correct time.
265/75/16 on stock wheel without rubbing. Any aftermarket wheel, especially considering backspacing or larger tire size will likely hit the wheel-well liner.
I know very little about any of this, however I just bought a 1999 Trooper and asked my mechanic exactly this question. Unfortunately, he told me that it has to be checked under the vehicle.    AnswerGo down to where do you pour trans. fluid in a 1996 Isuzu rodeo in this forum    ...
Depends on the motor. All the wiring schematics are shown in the Chilton's manual available at most part stores for around 15 dollars
Check Engine and Reduced Power P0401, P1125, P1295, P1515 I had this problem. It drove me crazy for a while. My father previously owned the car and a professional mechanic serviced the car several times. He replaced the accelerator position sensor and whatever else he did I don't know. I don't...
This is a pretty easy brake job, once you realize how to deal with the top caliper bolt. To start, set ebrake, jack and secure vehicle. Remove tire... The caliper looks like most disc brake calipers at first. You use a metric 14mm socket to remove lower caliper bolt. The top "bolt" is not really...
You push the winter drive button on the center console....right behind shifter.
Answer . \nI would assume it is made by Isuzu. Look on the door jamb at the placard. There will be listed the manufacture.
1.65 pounds. It's on the sticker on the driver's side of the firewall.
pour in where the dipstick is.
I'm not sure of the exact values; they should be in your Haynes repair manual. However, if you compression test all of the cylinders and find one that is lower you have a compression problem with that cylinder. It is also possible to have 2 that are lower, this would most likely indicate a warp in...
pretty easily. 1st draw a picture of how the old one goes on. Next find the spring loaded tension pulley and put a big wrench on it and lean. Your weight will compress to spring and the tension will come off the belt. It helps to have a second pair of hands. When the tension is off have the second...
