It's the "power" in your power breaks.
There could be two causes for this. The first is the fuse isgetting weak and the second is the relay isn't working.
\nMine went bad, as well. I bought an Ah-ooga horn to put in. I finally located the horn, but am scratching my head over replacing it. Basically, it's just behind and below the left headlight (from the driver's seat), in the bumper cavity. It looks like quite a bit of stuff will have to be...
Well, my IAC just went bad on my ZX2. I've been having stalling problems for about a year intermittently but it started getting really bad. When the car is driving its fine, but when I stop at a light it completely stalls. It will start right back up but only stays running if I give it gas. I took...

To access the fog lamp for replacement (which runs about $90 each) you need to remove the splashguards in front of the tire. With that removed you can easily reach the lamp for replacement. Simple matter of taking out four screws and reinstalling the new one.
In 2001 Ford (and all of it's children) and Honda began using 5w20 for CAFE requirements. This is the recommended oil viscosity for your Mazda.
It is problem with catalyst bank 2, catalytic converter, 02 sensor, pcv system, air leaks.
Just had one replaced. It cost $600.00. Most of that was for labor because it is located on the bottom side of the engine and you have to remove all kinds of parts just to get to it. I think the alternator itself was under $200.00
The 2005 Mazda Tribute was built in a 2.3L 4-cylinder and 3.0 V6trims. The OEM plug for the 4-cylinder is NGK part#90813 should begapped at .054-inches. The V6 is the same part# but needs a gap of.052.
Uneven tire wear, pulls to one side or the other, steering wheel off center,
It would be a 14 or 17 mm wrench, not Allen key. Hardly any Asian cars use Allen keys.
the belt is simple to change you actually have two one is the powersteering belt and the other is ac belt. you need to first lower the top pulley closest to the front of the engine remove the belt of the three pulleys then lower the alternator using the tension screw and remove the pulley to install...

Just the engine will come out the top. The engine tranny and t case will drop out the bottom, its much easier to work on swapping trans t case on shop floor.
I'm pretty sure it's a chain. The 2007-on Tribute has a 2.3L MRZ engine which it shares with the mazda3 mazda5 and mazda6. And I know for a fact that the mazda5 has a chain.
I have the same problem when I adjust the passenger seat or if my wife stuffs her purse under the seat my air bag light comes on. I found out that the wiring harness for the side air bag has a connecter under the seat. If something is pressing on the connecter or if it has been moved (sliding seat...

This week, I have changed the brake pads on two vehicles that I have never worked on before. I jack them up and get in there with a full set of Allen keys and small wrenches within reach. I look and see if it needs an Allen key or wrench and approximately what size. Then I try tools that may fit...
Answer . A light that looks like a house? The only answer I can provide is to call your local Mazda dealer. You need an owner's manual don't you? It is not an easy job and require real mechanic skills and tools, if you have that 1-desconect battery , drain oil and coolant fluid, remove air intake and all plastics on top, remove spark plugs and valve covers and injector. remove water reservoir and power steering too . 2-remove belt and...

Spraying it on the cable probably won't help. Take off the rear wheels and something like spray WD40 on the handbrake cable linkages. You could also give the drum a few smacks with a hammer - the vibration can free up a stuck linkage/cable. Might be a good idea to place a small block of wood against...
If 235/70-16 is the OEM tire size then switching to a 245/70-16 will cause your speedometer to read 58.8 at a true 60 mph. You will also have slightly less power.
A lot of Mazda' s will do that. It has nothing to do with the brake. You need to crack the wheel. What I mean by that is to pull the stering wheel hard left, then hard right until the shifter unlocks. Some times this can takes some time but its the only way to free up the shifter. My self and my son...

I would suspect The hazard switch has failed and/or the flasher relay also. Replace the relay first & see if problem still exsists. If does, hold onto relay & replace hazard switch or combination of both.
I had the same problem. I had to remove the bulb (careful not to touch it with your fingers). Then I took a piece of cardboard and rollied it into a cone-shaped tube. I taped it one end to a hair dryer and inserted the other end into the hole where the bulb goes and left it on for about 15 minutes....

The filter is in the transmission pan. Let a reputable mechanic do a tranny flush the proper way.
They are located under the hood on the passenger side fuse box, labeled "H/L LH" and "H/L RH".
If it has a cabin filter, the drivers manual would show you where, when and how to replace it.

Answer . Examine the door and trunk rubber seal to determine if they are damaged. If so, install replacements. It may also be the "rain rail". This is a piece of flexible plastic. It is attached to the rear trailing edge of the soft top, and then bolted against the body with spreader bars. You...
01-03 Tribute. Remove the two screws on the inside lip. The tail light pulls straight out towards the rear. What you can't see is that it is held in by 2 snaps on the outboard side.
Overdrive is always on by default every time you turn on the engine, even if last time you drove you turned it off. Given that Mazda does this, I believe it is their intention to use overdrive all the time. However, there are times I would turn it off. This would be when going up and down small...
There could be many reasons. But the ones I am familiar with are: If you get an error displayed, try one of the CD cleaners that has a brush on the CD to clean the lens. If there is no power, check the fuse. You will have to find the correct fuse in the owner's manual. If it is only temporary or...
Remove the neg battery cable for 30 seconds. This should work on all pre '96 cars as long as there are no more problems with the car.
I just replaced the idle control valve on my 2001,4 cyl. Tribute and it seems to have solved the problem$.60.00 for the part. I had it quoted to be installed at .5 hr. after it took me 4 hr. of hard work, maybe they know a secret way to get to the under side of the intake manifold, but I don't, it...
No, timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. They are normally replaced during a complete engine rebuild.
Nope ... it's a "gotcha" thing. VW does the same thing ... in both cases, they use a proprietary formula to create specific ingredients that are quite different from normal anti-freeze commercially available. They claim the use of any other type of liquid in the coolant system will do considerable...
There is a butterfly valve for the idle air intake. Buy a can of cleaner for this valve from the local auto store, give it a spray, and the motor will probably keep running.
Have you found the answer to this problem? My Mazda Tribute 2002 does the same thing but I don't know what to do. chanrich@nb.sympatico.ca I had the same problem a while ago. It's the day time running light module failing. The module is located up under the dash just to the left of the steering...
Answer . your gas cap isn't on correctly take it off and put it back on correctly
Answer . Battery could low. Check it and Replace the battery. I had this problem for nearly a year (ever since I had bought the car used). Ultimately, having the fuel pump replaced has made my car start up just wonderfully on cold mornings and on hot days.

The removal is really easy. Note from the comments above that the fragile side of these light houses is the right side. The strong side is the left side..... this is the side that does NOT break. You don't want to pull down on the right side you want to pull down on the left side. Get an L shaped...
My car was having the same problem. I took it to Mazda and they wanted to charge me $4500 to change out 3 catalytic converters and the Egr value. I did not let them touch it and mysteriously all of my brake fluid was gone and my car would not stop. I am not say that Mazda removed my fluid but I had...

The Cabin Air Filter is located on the exterior front passenger side underneath the plastic trim that the wipers rest on. To remove the trim, remove the plastic screws and pull the trim away. this is your answer . Press both setting buttons together for about 5 seconds.
I had the same codes on my 2004 escape v6. I found the exhaust cam on the front head had jumped time. There are three colored links on the chains and they must line up with the timing marks on the cam gears and crankshaft. They are on the front side of the chain toward the fender well and can be...

Answer . It might have a vacuum leak. Check the engine code by using a code reader. Borrow or buy a code reader to find out what the computer is detecting.. How do you replace headlight bulb on 2004 Mazda Tribute?
Answer . \nOne is located to the right side of the engine (when facing the rear of the car) in a box under the hood, and the other is located next to where your left leg would be when you are sitting in the driver's seat. There is a plastic panel cover that should be removed to expose each of the...
I have a 2004 as well and mine is in the fuel tank. Not very handy and very expensive. I am not affiliated with eBay in any way but you can find new ones on there at a much cheaper price as I have been pricing them myself. Good luck.
Unfortunately,, the Mazda engineers located the PCV valve on the 3.0L engines under the intake manifold--essentially right under the throttle body. You can't see it until you pull the upper intake manifold off. I would definitely change out the PCV valve if you are replacing the spark plugs since...
