Firstly, running away at all irritates your partner, lowering your Synchro, which makes your light puck a little harder to use (certain threads can prevent this from happening)
Secondly, every time you run away you lose a bit of power in the "battery" meter in the upper-right of the screen. Once the battery's run down, you can't run away any more. You "recharge" the battery by winning battles.

I stick with Shockwave (267) Pyrokinesis (266) Thunderbolt (271) and Force Rounds (269) Normally going 267 first, 271 and 269 when I run out of 267, and 266 when I'm in trouble

Not true, A shockwave pin is the best and worst option. Using a Ichimuji (think i spelt it right), a Ice riser (LVup to 3 ice riser) A vulcan uppercut (any), A grave marker (Kewl line LVup), Tin pin Blade, (Buy at Shibuq heads by lvling up a person to level 5 and buy tin pin wind to get it. (need rare metal and i think scattelite too.) Lastly, a pin that is a lightning arrester. (The best choice is a pin branded by pegaso.)

Best combo.

(1st shockwave until out of power, 2nd ice riser, 3rd kewl line them once or until all wasted, then the the uppercut attack, at the end of the 2nd attack, the shockwave pin would be charged, making you get the chance to use a aerial attack. Than you can do this countiniously for an infinite combo.

The tinpin blade and the lightning arrester are onlyfor emergencys if you are cornered or if you need distance between enemies.
