Get new Microsoft narrator voices?

According to Microsoft.com: "Microsoft does not provide additional speech engines (voices), but a number of third-party products are available that support the new Microsoft Speech API"

They provide a new Speech engine that comes with two new voices called "Mike" and "Mary", but for some reason, it won't load into narrator. It seems a lot of people had problems with it. It gave me a big headache, but I got it to work with some basic registry editing. It's very easy even if you have never touched registry before.

If you are interested in doing it my way, go to this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5e86ec97-40a7-453f-b0ee-6583171b4530&displaylang=en
Download the file called: SpeechSDK51.exe. Extract it then install it. Now, go to the registry (Start Menu > Run > regedt32) and navigate through the folders (keys) like you would windows explorer. Go to the following folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Speech\Voices\Tokens\MSSam
Over in the right pane where it has the folder contents, double-click "VoiceData" to open it. Go to the value data bar, find where it says "sam.spd" and change it to
"mary.spd" (or mike.spd). Go to the "VoiceDef" item right under it and change "sam.sdf" to "mary.sdf". And you're done. If you want to change it back, just go back in the registry and change it back to sam.spd & sam.sdf.
