Like my answer :)))) (MORE)
Nagmamahal, Shekainah (MORE)
If you have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), you may need a nasogastric (NG) tube inserted. A nasogastric tube goes through your nose into your stomach and can be used to feed,… give medications, treat bowel obstructions, or pump your stomach. The tube can help your IBS, treating a bowel obstruction by releasing gasses and fluids in your stomach. This also helps your abdomen shrink if it is distended. The NG will be hooked up to a suction machine to suck out the gasses and fluids; this can take several hours or days depending on how much fluid and gasses have to be sucked out. To learn more about these topics, read on.A nasogastric tube is plastic tubing that is inserted into your nose and goes down your esophagus and into your stomach. The tube is used to feed you, treat bowel obstructions, pump your stomach, or administer medication. This procedure takes a few minutes to perform. If you have IBS, an NG tube can help you get rid of an intestinal blockage by releasing gas and fluids in your stomach. The NG tube is hooked up to a suction machine and both the tube and the machine work to bring out the fluid and gas that are stuck in your stomach. This procedure also pushes down the bowel so it's not distended. This will make it easier for the obstruction to go away. You may feel more comfortable after having the tube in, since the painful gasses that were building up have escaped. After having the NG tube in, doctors can treat your bowel obstruction. It depends on how long it takes for the fluids and gasses to be brought out. The process could take from several hours to two or three days. Once the tube is taken out, doctors will either put you on a low-fiber diet until the obstruction clears up by itself or remove the obstruction with surgery. Usually, if your bowel is partially obstructed, the obstruction will clear up on its own. If you have a completely obstructed bowel or it doesn't clear up by itself, surgery is usually the only option. When you have a nasogastric tube put in, it's a very uncomfortable experience. The tube can be difficult to pass through your nose and may hurt going down your throat. When the tube is ready to be inserted, you will be instructed to lie down. Then while the tube is being moved from your nose into your stomach, you will be told to move your head, neck, or parts of your body to help the tube slide down easier. When the tube is being moved into your stomach, you may feel like you want to cough or throw up.When you have IBS, you might require an NG tube to relieve a bowel obstruction. The tube is inserted into your nose and goes down to your stomach. It is hooked up to a suction machine that sucks out the gasses and fluids that are building up in your stomach due to the obstruction. While it is uncomfortable for the time that you are using it, the NG tube will relieve the painful pressure that builds in your abdomen during a bowel obstruction. Keep this article in mind if you need to prepare for NG tube insertion.Doctors or nurses can give you an oral aesthetic to help the tube slide down easier. They can also use a lubricant to help with insertion. This will make it more comfortable for you. (MORE)
A common misconception that people have is presuming that all gas appliances use the same type of fuel; however, two types of gas exist for home appliances: natural gas (NG) a…nd liquid propane (LP). Both NG and LP are perfectly safe when the proper appliance is installed correctly to the proper fuel type. Problems arise when a gas appliance isn't connected to the proper gas type. It's vital to understand the differences between the two types of fuels for two reasons: one, when purchasing an appliance and two, for the safety of your home once the appliance is installed.NG is a mixture of a variety of gases and propane is one of them. It's usually always stored and delivered in a gas state. Propane is separated from NG during a refining process. LP is stored in tanks of all sizes at a high pressure. This high pressure in turn liquefies the propane. When a LP tank's valve is opened, the change in pressure turns the propane from a liquid into a gas. The difference in pressure between the two gases is what causes the danger when installing a gas appliance to the wrong fuel type.Because NG is at a lower pressure than LP, the orifices within a NG ready appliance (nozzles that control the gas flow) must be larger to allow enough gas to exit through them. When a NG ready appliance is fed LP, the higher pressurized LP spews out of the larger orifices creating a much larger, dangerous flame; far too large for any reasonable use. This applies to any gas appliance like clothes dryers, ranges, and cooktops.Connecting an NG appliance to LP doesn't have the same dangerous flame creation as a LP appliance connected to NG. In fact the lack of pressure in the NG line can't effectively power a LP ready appliance. Symptoms of a NG appliance connected to LP can be very low flames or none at all making cooking food or drying clothes impossible. The first step is to check your utility bills for areas listing NG or LP usage. Remember that propane is delivered and stored via tanks not through a ground line like NG. If you have a large tank on the outside of your home and a truck comes to fill that tank, then you have LP. Check the information plate on your gas appliances. This plate lists the model number, serial number, and fuel type of the appliance. If you still aren't sure, contact your local gas company or a certified contractor to inspect your home. Most gas appliances are already set to run on NG; however most can be converted to accept LP. This involves installing a conversion kit that contains the proper orifices to match the pressure of the fuel type. If a fuel conversion is needed, double-check that the kit is included with the appliance as some manufacturers provide these kits as an accessory for a separate fee. A fuel conversion is a simple process for a qualified technician and many retailers perform this conversion for you; however, do expect a fee for this service.Unfortunately, not all appliances can be converted from one fuel to another and these models must be ordered specifically NG or LP ready. Informing your salesperson of your gas type at the beginning of the sales process eliminates the hassle of navigating through slight model number changes and conversion options, and keeps you focused on finding the correct gas appliance for your needs.According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Americans consumed 25.46-trillion cubic feet of natural gas in 2012. Yes, trillion. While NG and LP are both common fuels, making sure to pair the correct appliance with the correct gas type is vital for an easy and safe installation. Be sure to communicate what fuel you need to your salesperson to ensure a smooth purchase and always consult with a trained professional when handling anything involving the installation of a gas appliance. The National Geographic Society (NGS) is considered by many researchers, educators, and students to be considered one of the most significant educational and scientific instit…utions in the world. Located in Washington, D.C., the National Geographic focuses on geography, natural sciences, archeology, and also often historical and anthropological sciences. While many think of the National Geographic only as the magazine that is published by the NGS, the nonprofit organization also offers educational resources and teaching tools for professionals and students alike. Below are some of the main areas of research and resources provided by the National Geographic Society. The first issue of the famous magazine was published in 1888, and the magazine is still both relevant and popular today. The magazine, which is published monthly, is known for covering cultural, archeological, historical and geographical articles that expose readers to in-depth scientific research. It is known for its journalistic take on scientific research, and the photography that accompanies the articles. Any given copy of the magazine may have a feature article about a current event, such as a war, accompanied by historical and archeological finds, and essays from scientists. Perhaps, most notably, the National Geographic is published in more than 30 languages around the world.National Geographic focuses mostly on geography, natural sciences, archeology, world culture, environmental sustainability, historical conservation, and history. The range of topics covered is vast, and somewhat confusing. The bottom line is that National Geographic promotes an understanding of our world, and the cultural, natural and historical events that make it what it is today. This means that the National Geographic may focus on information about a certain geography, coupling it with historical data to shed light on a certain area of the world, or that the natural sciences may be highlighted to share an interesting animal or discovery. The National Geographic Society publishes more than the flagship magazine. The society focuses intensively on education and thus has several periodicals and journals intended for young students. For instance, the "Traveler," "Adventure," and "Explorer" editions are focused on students as young as 3 years old, and are often intended to be used in classrooms as resources for both students and teachers. The NGS has steadily grown its educational publications; "National Geographic Kids" first appeared in 1975, with "National Geographic Exploring History" making its editorial debut in 2011.As a nonprofit dedicated to increasing knowledge of world cultures, science, and history, the organization funds numerous projects that it deems will deepen people's understanding and care for the planet. The range of projects that the National Geographic funds are large. Many research grants are awarded to researchers who study topics including primates, dinosaurs, fossils, and even undersea exploration. However, the Society also supports social projects, which encourage education and social justice, such as independent media and educational opportunities. As part of its educational programming focused on geography, culture, and history, the Society offers educational television programming. Currently, the National Geographic Channel is a standalone television channel that allows Nat Geo (a nickname for the society) to feature scientists, historians, and archeologists, and showcase the work that these people do. Notably, Jane Goodall, famous for her work with gorillas, appeared on the National Geographic channel alongside her abundance of research. The National Geographic is a powerful and interesting nonprofit whose broad focus on geography educates countless people each year. The focus of the organization is to bring knowledge into the houses of as many people as possible; the television programming, National Geographic Magazine, and research grants mean that the reach of the organization is unlike any other. From fascinating and titillating articles about deep sea animals to journalistic exposes on war zones, the National Geographic Society is an invaluable resource for students, educators, and scientists alike. With a long and fascinating history, it is truly an organization that makes a difference in the scientific and academic communities. While the National Geographic Society is today a nonprofit organization, it was founded for an elite and small group of rich travelers. The organization was founded by 33 men who gathered in Washington D.C. (MORE)
Those who suffer from multiple sclerosis, or know of someone who suffers from it, are aware of its severity and the toll that it takes on the body. While there is no sure-fire… cure for the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis (MS), proper palliative care, pain management, and a healthy diet can ease the pain and symptoms of the disease quite effectively. Most physicians will prescribe the proper dosage of medication and pain management, but it usually is up to the patient to manage their diet and food intake. It is very important for those who suffer from multiple sclerosis to eat properly and adhere to a stricter diet, as it can provide enough energy to the body to fight against the disease for a more prolonged amount of time.In most cases, a vitamin D deficiency has been linked with more severe symptoms of multiple sclerosis. The disease is much more common and prevalent in areas and people that do not get enough vitamin D or sunlight. Try to get out in the sunlight as often as possible, wearing the suggested sunscreen, and take a vitamin D supplement or eat foods rich in vitamin D. Some foods to be considered are fish, cheeses, egg yolk, soy milk, and yogurt. These are more mild food choices for those who find it difficult to stomach food, and in most cases, there also may be a nutritional shake to supplement for meals if desired. Consult your physician before adhering to any specific diet or way of eating.Vitamin B and omega-3 acids are rich in vitamins and minerals that aid in the central nervous system's health. Since MS is an autoimmune disease, normally branching from the brain to the spine and further, a healthy central nervous system can greatly depreciate any severe symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Foods such as hearty greens (lettuce, cabbage, and kale), seaweed, organic fish, and a minimum of three cups of vegetables or fruits daily, such as strawberries, blueberries, bananas, oranges, basil, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, or nectarines. Fruits and vegetables with vivid colors provide a great source of antioxidants, which is great for the immune system. It's general knowledge that processed foods are not exactly the wisest foods to put into your body. They do not have substantial amounts of antioxidants and have little to no nutritional value. This means that in general, processed foods rich in sugar such as white rice, white breads, candies, juices from concentrate, and almost anything found in the grocery store on the shelf should be avoided. Processed foods slow down your metabolism, they create blockage, and clog the body. It's very easy to eliminate processed foods by merely eating more organic foods, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and organic milks and cheeses.Whether you enjoy a class of tea with a bit of sugar, or you enjoy a diet soda every so often, it is important to avoid artificial sweeteners that have aspartame in them. It has been linked to cause more severe symptoms of certain diseases. Diseases such as Lyme disease, lupus, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis have been linked with moderate to large intake of artificial sweeteners with aspartame in them. It is best to cut out most, if not all sugars, but if desired for a treat every so often, try organic cane sugar as a substitution. If you have an iron surplus or deficiency, it is important to be aware of this and monitor it accordingly. An iron surplus causes damage to the inner lining of blood vessels and provides an excess of free radicals. If you have an iron level of about 80 ng/ml, then simply speak to your doctor and donate some of your blood. This will help lower your iron levels. The ideal iron level is going to be nearing the range of 40-60 ng/ml, and if you have an iron level of 20 ng/ml or under, speak to your doctor about taking an iron supplement or trying foods rich in iron.If you are living with multiple sclerosis or know someone who is suffering from it, there are a few options to try when trying to make healthier choices. Since multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease, it is important to have a strong central nervous system, provided by the right intake of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and a healthy diet. Foods rich in omega-3 and vitamin D and B are ideal for a strong central nervous system. They can aid in suppressing and minimizing the detrimental side effects of the disease. Many physicians have stated their approval of trying a gluten-free diet for aiding in the fight against multiple sclerosis. However, there have been no sure-fire signs of success or even aid in working against or minimizing the effects of the disease. Allen Bowling, the Multiple Sclerosis Service director of the Colorado Neurological Institute, who is learned in alternative medicine, has even stated himself that there are no signs that it is preventative or helpful against the disease.
