I am currently trying to pursue SSI Disability, and had an appointment today to visit the B&B Office in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. I tried calling the phone number that I was given, but I got a recording that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. I tried re-dialing it again twice, just incase I had mis-dialed or made a mistake.
When I couldn't call them, I decided to look up their number on the internet. It seems that their website is down or has been disabled by the service provider - which is NOT GOOD.
I then decided to Google them, and found many, MANY complaints from former employees and clients. I have found out that they are pretty much Lawyer Scumbags who take 24% of your check/settlement with SSI and make YOU do all of the work yourself.
Well, if I am going to have to do all the paperwork MYSELF, then I am NOT going to use these guys because a) I need all of my money for medcine, food, clothes, a place to live, etc. I have a chronic healtha and pain condition, so it's not like I have money to throw around!
I recommend Googling, reading up on disability and doing everything YOURSELF. If you have a doctor or doctors you regularly see, talk to them and let them know that you are going to be filing for SSI and might need their help... and I have read today that you should have your doctor do the examinations instead of the ones that the Social Security Administration wants to send you to, so that you can get a fair and honest assessment.
I have heard that you might get turned down the first or second time applying, but to appeal. I heard that an attorney can help if you need the money fast/ are in a dire situation - but you need a GOOD ATTORNEY, not these dudes. I am going to file all the paperwork myself on the internet, and have my doctors send records myelf.
Good Luck!
