Best Answer

Telepathy is defined as communication from one mind to another by extrasensory means and hypnosis is a trance like state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are readily accepted by the subject so the two have been deemed exclusive; however, there have been a very few cases where they weren't.

They are not mutually exclusive however telepathic hypnosis is very rare and not something used by ethical psychiatrists in treating their patients.

It is currently unknown if telepathic hypnosis has been used on children, but normal hypnosis has been used on children. There have been many cases where the child can be hypnotized to view something as not bad, which has happened in child abuse situations or fears the child may have.

Hypnosis can be used for pain control and cancer related symptoms. It has also been used as part of psychological therapy, a method of habit control, a way to relax, and a tool to enhance sports performance.
