We have seen the far side from lunar orbit many times, but there have been no landing expeditions there so far. Radio communications are cut off for people when the moon is between them and earth. So landing there would be particularly hazardous. Earth-based equipment would not be able to monitor astronaut health/activity, equipment status or other telemetry.
Note. The far side is not the dark side. It is more accurate to refer to it as the far side of the moon; it is no more dark than the face of the moon that is visible from earth.
