Cadbury keep their production processes very secret. They often boost a pint and a half in every Cadbury bar. The main factory in Birmingham does have tours but when you ask the question how its all done.. you get a simple "with lots of attention to the detail" answer
Comment from an insider: In fact, this is about as accurate as you're going to get. For many years now, Cadburys have used an advanced mathematical model which delivers constant quality - their main criterion - whilst remaining sensitive to materials prices, which can fluctuate significantly. Protection against such fluctuations is in place all along the supply chain. The result is exactly as described: lots of attention to detail.
This is part of the reason Cadbury for many years refused to venture into the top-end chocolate sector, as it would remove materials essential to the Cadbury mouth-feel. However, with its acquisition of Green & Black, it now has an ecologically-sensitive presence in that market of some size.
