It's possible, provided that you live in a state that has emancipation laws (not every state does) and you prove your case to the court. Among other things, you would have to prove that you are capable of supporting yourself (and that means of support can not be public assistance). You also have to prove that it's in your best interest to be emancipated. The courts generally don't like to override the authority of parents, and if your parents object, then you are really going to have to prove your case.

No, emancipation, legally referred to as the Relief from Disability of Nonage (or something similar); indicates the minor does not need adult involvement in their life. Which means they will have to provide for their own food, clothing, shelter, medical care, transportation, education and so forth. Even when a minor is granted early emancipation, they still have to meet the specific age requirements established by state laws. A few are, not being able to enter into financial contracts, use alcohol or be employed in certain jobs, and they must adhere to the state compulsory education laws.

You would have to prove to the courts that you are able to take care of your self. You would have to show that you are responsible, you can pay bills, you are still in school. The judge will not grant this to you unless you can demonstrate that you have the means to financially support yourself. You would also have to have good reason to emancipated at the age of fifteen. Most states will not allow a 15-year-old to petition for emancipation at all. Generally, they require that a person be at least 16 (there are a few--very few--exceptions such as CA). But even if you live in a state that will allow you to petition for emancipation, as previously stated, one of the things that you would have to prove to the court is that you are capable of fully supporting yourself. That means paying for rent, utilities, food, clothing, medical expenses, etc. That's VERY hard for a 15-year-old to do since they are only allowed by law to work a very limited number of hours.

That is what emancipation means, it means you want to be able to leave your parent's house and they disagree. A judge can rule against your parents when you apply and take it to court. At 16, emancipation is a possibility in most states as long as you can prove you have what it takes to live on your own.

Emancipation generally relates to a minor being declared of legal age. A female minor who is a pregnant or has a child can ask the court to emancipate her for her to be eligible to receive public assistance. Being pregnant or having a child does not automatically make the minor female emancipated. On the other side, a parent can file a voluntary termination of parental rights petition to be relieved of their parental obligations to a minor child or children. The granting of such a request is based upon what is in the best interest of the child or children rather than the circumstances of the parent.

Yes, If you are at least 15 and in the state of Virginia you can. The laws vary from state to state. Many states don't allow emancipation. In all states you have to show that you can support yourself, which is fairly difficult for most teens that haven't gotten out of high school yet.

You are not an adult in the eyes of Mississippi law until you are 21. However, some minors may have problems at home they may be deemed by a judge emancipation based on their circumstances, but there must be proof of any form of abuse (mental/physical) or abandonment by the parents. The definition of emancipation is the freeing of a minor from parental control. If emancipation is granted then neither parents nor guardians are responsible for the acts of the minor. There is no specific statute for emancipation in Mississippi but case law has provided a way for children in Mississippi to become emancipated. There are basic requirements before emancipation is granted: * The child must be at least 16 years old and a resident of Mississippi. * The child must not currently reside with the parents. * The child must be able to support themselves financially and not be a ward of the State. Once a minor is emancipated they are treated as an adult. The court will restrict (until the age of 21): * Possession of a firearm * Cigarettes * Alcohol * The emancipated minor must attend school or show proof of graduation. * A minor cannot vote until the age of 21 in Mississippi. In Mississippi emancipation is generally not recognized, but the court will ask question and determine whether or not emancipation should be pursued or the minor should live with other relatives of the family should they be deemed responsible adults. It is also important that if the minor receives the document of emancipation that they carry it with them at all times to prove they are adult status.

from what I've been looking into you have to patition a court and meet the state laws most of them are that you can support yourself, and show that you are mature enough to take care of yourself. also you should already be living away from your parents and have a job, and not have any type of conflict with police or juvinial (spelling) court.

No, but when the person reaches the age of majority, the parents can legally request they move out of the family home and take responsibility for their own financial support.

What if you're 17 and you want to be emancipated but your parents won't give consent?

in most states you have to be in the system for some odd reason to be emancipated with out your parents consent. if you want to be emancipated because you want to do your own thing like drop out of school or rebel in some ways then it would be hard to understand your parents stand point. if you are legally able to take care of yourself and attend school and provide for your self in every aspect then go the department of social services and ask for their help.

If you get emancipated do you have to move out of your parents house?

If you are emancipated, it's up to your parents as to whether you have to move out of the house or not. If your parents do not want you to continue to live with them, they can get an eviction notice to force you to move. However, in order for a court to approve emancipation, you have to prove to the court that you are self-supportive and that you have a place of your own to live.

Can you get emancipated and get money given to you by your parents?

No. An emancipated minor is required to support themselves through gainful employment and not by their parents or public assistance.
