I am not an expert on other religions, but I have never found a religion other than Christianity whose God (and my God, for that matter) loves them. Every other religion's god acts like humans do (such as their gods are easy to anger), and to please their god you have to do something for them/sacrifice something. In contrast, Christianity's God is different from humans, for he was not created by human minds. His love is unsearchable, he is slow to anger, and he is just. You don't need to preform special rituals, go to special "holy lands", or sacrifice your belongings. You only need to believe, for we do not believe in salvation by works.

In addition, other religions are typically easy to grasp, for they are just facts that you believe in, but Christianity is impossible to fully grasp. For example, in Christianity we believe that though we sometimes treat our God as though He is nothing, He still loves us, and to forgive EVERYONE'S sins against Him and to show THE WORLD how much He loves them He sent them his own Son, who died for us. It is a love so great that humans cannot fully grasp it.

Though Christianity is hard to grasp, it is not complicated. Many other religions are very complicated, for you have to do many different things to attain salvation, to live a long happy life, and so on. Christianity is really quite simple. If you believe that Jesus was the Son of God, your sins are forgiven. It is as simple as that.

Other religions are based upon what WE do. (trying to do what is right in order to earn our way to heaven, or reach whatever goal that religion has) Christianity is based upon the work that Jesus Christ did for us by living a sinless life, dying on the cross, and raising Himself from the dead so that we may be forgiven of our sins and spend eternity in heaven with Him. It is about realizing that no matter how hard we try we are not perfect and we will make mistakes and do wrong- which The Bible calls sin. This does not mean that we should not try to do what is right, but that we can do it for better motives. I do not help someone to try to earn goodie points to make it into heaven, I do it because I am called to love God and to love others and it is a way to worship and honor God for what he has done for me.

Many will say that Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship. That is different from many other religions. It isn't man reaching up to God so much as it is God reaching down to man and working in his heart for salvation through the power of the Holy Spirit, and God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus the Son are working in Christian believers and through them to do Their will. Christians relate to God primarily through prayer and Bible study; also through other believers, who should encourage, teach, correct, exhort, and in any number of ways, show God's love in all their relationships. Another difference is that other religions will tell you ways that you must earn your way to heaven or their correlating place; in Christianity, you are saved (that is, made acceptable to go to heaven) by God's grace rather than by your own works. Titus 3:4-7 says: But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. So it's God's work in Christians, not Christians' work for God, that makes Christians able to go to Heaven. Another difference from many other religions is that in Christianity, Jesus says that He is the only way to heaven, or salvation: In John 14:5-7, Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Many people take offense at this, but it could be argued to be more logical and simple that there would be only one way, rather than a disorderly assortment of ways to God. Otherwise, it would be confusing to know which of those many ways would be real and which would be fake. Another difference is that the Bible says that Jesus is alive (Hebrews 7:25), whereas the founders of other religions are dead. 1 Corinthians 15:3-7 says, For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; ... After appearing to the believers, He ascended to Heaven, and now He is seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. Acts 2:33 says, Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. Because He had power to raise Himself up from the dead, He has power to raise us from the dead as well. In John 14:19 Jesus is telling His disciples about what is to come, and says, "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.." Another difference I have heard is that in Christianity, we are supposed to live according to the golden rule, that is Matthew 7:12, "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets," whereas in some other religions, I've heard that it states a similar idea in a more negative way, such as "Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you." It is not a primary difference, but it is an interesting difference nonetheless. The God of Christianity doesn't work to scare people into faith or obedience, but to love them to faith. No mere human on earth is perfect. All of us are inadequate in ourselves. Romans 3:23 says, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. That means we've all sinned, that is, we've offended God. We need someone who can help us make peace with Him. And that is what God sent His Son Jesus to do, as in John 3:16, which you may have already heard; it's a very popular verse: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. And I really love the next verse! John 3:17 is not so well known, which might interest those who think that Christianity is so condemning: For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Jesus died for our sins while we were still sinners: Romans 5:8 says, But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God honors those who honor Him; He also doesn't force Himself into their lives. He doesn't force people to obey Him. He shows them His love, and the response of love from a Christian to God is to walk in obedience to His commands. 1 John 5:3-4 says, For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. What I like about Christianity is that God takes a person who has a lot of things that need changing, and gradually, gently, and quietly changes them. Sometimes a lot of things will change at the beginning, and other things take a while. The end result of a person who has been a Christian for a long time is that he should show a lot of what's called the "Fruit of the Spirit" which is the lasting impact that the Holy Spirit makes on an obedient Christian's behavior: Galatians 5:22-23 says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (In other words, God will never forbid a person from showing any of these traits. I personally like that little detail!) How does a person become a Christian? There's a very simple way: You pray, telling God that you know you have sinned and need Jesus to save you from your sins, that you want to know Him, to have Him love you, and that you want to learn to live in obedience to God. Ask Him to guide you and teach you, and help you to find a good church. Once you're a Christian, you will do best if you read the Bible and pray every day, and go to a good church on Sunday. You should be careful to compare what the pastor preaches with what you're reading in the Bible, to make sure that you're getting good teaching. If you have questions after reading the Bible, then pray and find another Christian who is living according to the Bible, and ask him or her. God will help you to grow and learn through the Holy Spirit, who will come to live within you when you become a Christian. The main difference is Christianity is based upon our dependence upon what God has done for us by Calvary (paid the price for our sin); and what He is doing in us to transform us to be as He is. Religion is based upon what what man has the power to do; Christianity is based upon what God has the power to do;"He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". Religion is based upon the ability of man to discipline himself to keep the norms of that religion and by keeping those norms to better himself. Religion offers enslavement and death; Christianity offers freedom and eternal life. The word religion is only used five times in the New Testament; four of those times in a negative sense; where three times it refers to "the Jews religion" and once to "man's religion"; the only positive sense where it is used it refers to "true religion". In this one positive example it is taught that true religion teaches us to love our fellow man and love God; for religion alone can not save you. The Bible teaches mans hope is not based upon (religion) what man can do to better himself; but what God can do to better man.

There is mainly only three religions in the world, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Christianity to Islam- Jesus is a prophet in Islam, not in Christianity. in Christianity God has different opinions to what Christians should do rather than Muslims.

Christianity to Judaism- Jews believe Jesus was not the messiah, Christians did.

The major difference of Christianity from other world religions (Brahmanism, Buddhism, Judaism and Islam) is the uniqueness of the founder. Only in Christianity the founder, Jesus Christ, was resurrected from death.

Christian Church Historian, Bruce Shelley wrote, " Christianity, is the only major Religion/Faith to have as it central event the humiliation of its God" Consider not only Jesus' Humiliation and anguish in Matthew 27:45-54 where is speaks about his own disciples betraying him. Not only that, but his own people demanding his death. His friends Deserted him and on top of that, his own intimately loving fathers has turned away.

The difference in Christian faith to me after reading Matthew 27 is that Jesus (the one and only God in human form on earth) Lived life as a human and went through everything a Christian on earth could possible go through such as loneliness sadness, betrayal, happiness, success admiration and the list goes on and on - and by Jesus doing and experiencing all of this, he wants to help up and he wants to be with us as his people and Gods creation! This for me is something that truly stands out to me about what makes Christianity such a loving and merciful Faith!

- Hope that helped =)

Christianity is different from other religions in the way they believe. Christians believe that Jesus came to die for us, and they also believe the Bible is the Words of God, written by His prophets.
