As opposed to earthworms, arthropods (crayfish) segments often become fused. Therefore, certain parts of a crayfish that looks like one piece, was once multiple pieces before they became fused together, so some segments were actually once more than just that one segment. An earthworm on the other hand, is just as many segments as are seen, and always has been.

Well........ Earthworms are usually in the moist soil or watered soil. You'll mostly find them coming out when it rains. Marine worms are sometimes found in pools, lakes, rivers, and sometimes oceans. They are simialr to Marine life. That's why they are called Marine worms. I'm am not soo sure soo sorry if it's wrong............. I know my animal life pretty well so it should be right. Leave a message on Sportiechic101's page and tell me if I am right.

Round worms are smaller (most are microscopic) worms and are usually parasites. One example of these is the hookworm. While most are parasitic, only a few will bother humans (most are parasitic only to plants). Segmented worms are the largest worms and are things like earthworms or leeches. They are the most complex worms and have developed digestive systems and a group of nerves that works like a brain. The main difference is that segmented worms are more complex organisms.

A segment is a defining feature of the exterior, and segments increase in size with age. The front segment is the mouth, the rear segment is the anus, and the other segments contain the internal organs, digestive tract, and muscles for movement.

An earthworm is a tube-shaped, segmented animal that is commonly found living in soil. Invasive worms such as peregrine or cosmopolitan earthworms, are parasites to other animals. The animals that the worms are inside of are called the hosts. The worms take the nutrients and food away from the host, therefore it will leave the host sick and may die.

Other segmented worms such as tapeworms have segments that continue inside their bodies. Earthworms have segments that are only on the outside.

Earthworms have segments so they can grow between the front and back, and so that they can move using the muscles and exterior hairs of each segment.
