========= Sin as defined by Christians are the same as "character flaws" of some Philosophies (Buddhism, Taoism, etc)and can be rectified by own self without self from supernatural beings. Can you go one week without telling a lie or doing anything bad? If so, then you are perfect. Sin is defined by The Bible. If you don't believe in the bible, then you are not a sinner no matter what you do. Answer Sin as defined by Christians are the same as "character flaws" of some Philosophies (Buddhism, Taoism, etc)and can be rectified by own self without helf from supernatural beings. But Philosophically, Sinners justifies the existence of a god.If no Sin, what's god use for?

A Biblical Perspective:

The inspired Word of God, the Bible, defines "sin": "...for SIN IS the TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW." (I John 3:4)

Sin is "breaking God's Laws!" Sin is DISOBEDIENCE to our Creator!

And Paul, a law student [under '...Gamaliel, a doctor of the Law...' - Acts 5:34 & 22:3] and teacher of the Laws of God, himself; elaborates as to "which transgressed [broken] Law" of God the "definition of sin" John is talking about.

"What shall we say then? IS THE LAW SIN? God forbid. NAY, I had not known sin, but BY the Law:; for I had not known LUST, except the Law had said, 'THOU SHALT NOT COVET'." (Rom.7:7)

And what Law of God that defines "sin" says, 'Thou shalt not covet?' Of course, it's God's Ten Commandments!

Therefore... we are all sinners, because WE ALL BREAK GOD'S COMMANDMENTS... which are God's Laws that "define what we all need to do to live decent, respectable lives": by Loving and Respecting our Creator -- and Loving and Respecting one another.

With our Love for one another [or our jealousy, envy and hatred; disrespect] for one another regarded by God as aimed directly AT HIM!

"For I was hungry, and you didn't feed Me. I was thirsty, and you didn't give Me anything to drink. I was a stranger and you didn't invite Me into your home. I was naked, and you gave Me no clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't visit Me... I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these My brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help Me..." (Matt.25:42 NLT New Living Translation)

"...Purify me from my sins. For I recognize my shameful deeds - they haunt me day and night. AGAINST YOU, AND YOU ALONE HAVE I SINNED; I have done what is evil in your sight..." (Ps.51:2-4 NLT)

We all sin, because human nature [our carnal minded {spiritual} reasoning processes] are aimed at the "self." We're naturally "selfish" [caring only for and about ourselves] and we're naturally "rebellious to authority."

"For the sinful nature [the 'carnal mind' - KJV] is ALWAYS HOSTILE TO GOD. It never did obey God's Laws, and it never will." (Rom.8:7 NLT)

And ever since "that old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan" [see Rev.12:9] first awakened the lust and greed in the human hearts of the two people God created... the generations of man have followed the example of their parents.

Just as God's redeemed Children, who have been forgiven their "past transgressions" [sins of the past]... and with the indwelling of the Spirit of their Father in heaven working in conjunction with their spirit -- follow the example and commandments of their new "Perfect Parent."

"I COMMAND YOU TO LOVE EACH OTHER IN THE SAME WAY I LOVE YOU." (John 15:12 NLT)

And how did [and does] Jesus Love us? SELFLESSLY!

"And here is how to measure it - the Greatest Love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends. You are My friends IF YOU OBEY ME." (verses 13-14)

So we're back to square one: how are we all sinners? We are all sinners, because "we don't Love, Care and Respect each other with the selfless Love of our Creator." [which He commands us all to do]

And we don't "Obey God's Commandments." [the breaking of which is God's definition of sin]

"...in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the SPIRIT THAT NOW WORKETH IN THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE." (Eph.2:2)

"Be ye therefore FOLLOWERS OF GOD, as Dear Children; and WALK IN LOVE, as Christ also hath Loved us, and hath given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God [the Father] for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be named among you, as becometh saints... For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon THE CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE [to God's Laws]." (Eph.5:1-6)

Sin is "disobedience to God's Commandments." And that's how we all sin. This world of the prince of the power of the air hates both the Creator... and His Laws. This world's god promotes "selfishness" -- "rebelliousness" -- "disobedience" -- "lawlessness." Which appeals to carnal minded human nature.

"When the world hates you, remember it hated Me before it hated you... the people of the world will hate you because you belong to Me, for they don't know God who sent Me." (John 15:18-21 NLT)

"For there is not a righteous man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20.)

In Hebrew, there are different levels of sin (Talmud, Yoma 36b). Not everyone transgresses (serious, or deliberate sins), but no one is so perfect as to never make a slip-up. That is what the above verse means (since it uses the lesser word for sin).
