Goldfish can get VERY big. Actually, they naturally never stop growing. They can even get up to 3 feet. You may find this hard to believe, but this is because most goldfish's growths are stunted because of small tanks. Sometimes they adapt to the tank size and only grow if put in a bigger tank but this is rare. If a goldfish is given a healthy, natural life, they will continue to live and grow. The record for oldest fish is about 49 years.
The person above me is very right. Goldfish usually don't reach their full length because they die (cuz of small tanks, over feeding, and any other abuse) before they can. They never stop growing but their growing starts to slow down after a while. That's why it's 20 gallons for one goldfish and another 10 gallons for additional goldfish (3 large fancy goldfish in a 50 gal).
The two people above me are partially right. There is no record of any goldfish reaching 3 feet, only koi can attain a length that big. Goldfish are also capable of growing to their adult size (12 - 14 inches) in a 10 gallon tank as long as you keep the tank clean, warm and you put the goldfish on a varied diet. Although, since goldfish can grow big and produce a lot of waste, it is best that you move them to a bigger tank once they grow-out their old one.
According to experts, an ordinary or common goldfish will grow up to 26 inches while koi carps will grow and weigh up to 90 lbs.
REALLY REALLY BIG, of course depending on the tank size, if put in a big tank they can reach the size of a koi
They can live to the age of 45 if in clean conditions. They can get as large as 10'', but if they have descendants of a large fish such as a koi it can grow as large as a koi. The goldfish also grows with the tank as you give it bigger ones. I have a comet goldfish who is half that has lots of koi in him and a little bit of goldfish,he is 2 years old.
It will grow to the size of the tank you might have you see the big gold fish in the shop what r about 5-7 ich long
they will continue to grow as big as their aquarium/pond allows. I have some that are around 8-9 inches long. That being said their organs constantly grow. So even though they are stunted in a tank their organs will expand stressing and potentially killing the fish.
it depends on how big it is
Ingore the person above me. A single goldfish needs 20 gallons with an another 5-10 gallons per additional goldfish. so two adult goldfish would do best in a 30 gallon. I keep 3 large fancy goldfish (goldfish grow their whole life and by about 2 years they are about 7" long) in a 50 gal.
I depend haw old they r if they r 1 2 inchis every day
Goldfish will grow very large and commonly grow to 24" and live for over 20 years.
That depends upon what you call big. Goldfish will continue to grow for several years but can reach 10 inches in two or three years if looked after properly.
Comets can get all the way up to about 22" under the right circumstances. It is much more likely an average comet will only grow to 12".
how big do goldfish have to be so they dont get eaten
They can grow to about 1 foot.
Approximately 2 inches in length by the time the fish is 4 months old, however the growing rate greatly slows after this period (although the fish will continue to grow until about three years of age) and every goldfish is different so there is no way to know exactly how fast a particular fry will grow.
You may want to add a liner to be on the safe side, but you could have 2 fancy goldfish, one one common or single tailed goldfish. (goldfish grow big and fast)
because your goldfish has a tomber(cancer)
no because, a baby goldfish takes 1 year to grow.
It depend's on how the goldfish is being treated.
Goldfish release growth-inhibiting hormones into the water they live in: the more goldfish in a smaller space, the less likely they are to grow. For instance, if I have a common goldfish in a 5 gallon tank, it will grow to about the same size if I had 6 of the same fish in a 30 gallon tank. But leave that fish alone in a 30 gallon tank, and it will grow larger. This is why pond goldfish grow bigger. But goldfish won't grow at all in seawater; they aren't saltwater fish.
Goldfish commonly grow to over 10 inches given proper care and conditions.
Yes, they will grow almost to half the size of their tank.
jyujukku
It doesn't !
trout pellets, they make the goldfish grow larger, faster, just a couple a day
Goldfish have the potential to grow very large if given the necessary amount of space from the very beginning. This means that if you put one goldfish in the recommended 20 gallons on it's own, it could potentially grow quite large.
