There is NO such thing as a "teacup" chihuahua or any other dog. Teacup is a term to describe just how small each one is. Chihuahua's have become fads for many people. All Chihuahua's can fit into a teacup when they are puppies. Chi's don't reach their full height and weight until they are two years old. To show a chi it cannot weigh more than 6 lbs., but the average weight for a chi is 10 lbs. AND the average weight of a PUREBRED Chihuahua is 5-8lbs.

Teacup refers to potential size but you may buy one to find it grows to regular chihuahua size which is listed following. Please take care and know that under 3lbs could mean health issues as they are "runts" of the breed although cute as heck and still wonderful companion dogs :)
