The amount involved is about 6 billion dollars, split between the UK and the Netherlands.
Iceland has a population of around 300,000. So those debts amount to 22,000 dollars per person, which is a pretty hefty amount to pay for the bailout of a single company. Many people in Iceland are not able to afford these debts either.
