Using the official White House address to send a letter is still the best way to contact the president. You can also send e-mails, but it is not clear that the president himself will read them; usually he has staff-members look over the e-mails. The same is true for letters: given how many letters a president receives, it is impossible for him to read every one. Usually, a team of staff-members read them and then give certain ones to him each day. I enclose the link to the White House contact information.

The only way to reach President Obama is to follow the instructions in the link below, which will give you the official White House contact information. As you might imagine, many people want to send the president a letter, and while there is no guarantee he will receive yours directly, he does have a staff of people who read the mail and sometimes give him some of it.

The best way to do this is to contact him in care of the White House. But first, you should know that all presidents get a lot of mail, and President Obama is no exception. Chances are that he personally will not read the e-mail first-- he has a staff who read them. But they then choose some e-mails to give to the president, who does in fact answer some of them. I enclose the link to the White House website for contacting the president. If you have a private or personal message for the president, you may want to send a letter by snail-mail, rather than using e-mail. The White House website also has directions about how to send a letter.

I wouldn't think you can contact him directly, pretty hard to get a hold of any president, but try websites connected to them.
