For the vast majority of files, there is no such thing as a "Mac file" or a "Windows file." Documents, pictures, and videos are all cross-platform.

For applications, there is no way to "convert" them to run on a different platform. You can use virtual machines, emulators, and ABI compatibility layers to run some Windows programs on a Mac. The only way to run Mac programs on Windows is to run a copy of Mac OS X in an emulator or virtual machine.

If the receiving Macintosh is running Word then no conversion is necessary. If it is a fairly normal Word doc, without too many layout features, then TextEdit on the Mac will be able to open the Word doc. If the recipient is having problems opening the Word doc then the sender could save the doc in a standard (non-Microsoft specific) format such as a RTF (Rich Text File) or a PDF.

Macs are able to access most standard file types. Some software uses a unique file type that will not be compatible with computers that are unable to run that software. Ideally files should be saved in a format that is readable by most computers. Creating a PDF of the output will guarantee that information can be shared even if it cannot be edited and worked on by others.

1) Download file

2) Right click and keep resuming (Resume)

3) When it has more than 0 bytes then right click and click show in finder

If it is 0 bytes then it won't work.

4) Then right click and choose package contents and choose the .xls doc (not info.plst)

.DMG is a compressed file used in MAC to mount a virtual drive, normally to install a program. However the files within the .dmg is probably for a MAC machine and might not work of Windows 7. Tag for further research: Apple Disk Image

How do you Convert quickbooks pro from mac to PC?

If you have one of the later Intel Macs then you can use Boot Camp free from Apple to install a Windows partition and then you can install and boot into Windows whenever you need to use a Windows product. Or you can buy a "Virtual" partition emulator like VMWare, Paralells, etc, and then you can just start up windows on the Mac partition, no need to reboot. It's not 100 percent compatible with all programs but they are always updating it.
