You MUST file each year seperately. A filing is for ONE accounting period, virtually always a year.

Laws, forms and many things change each year.

MORE THAN THAT - IT WOULD BE A TERRIBLE THING TO COMBINE YOUR INCOME INTO ONE FILE....YOU WOULD PAY MUCH MORE TAX AND LOSE LOTS OF BENEFITS!

If a person is behind in their child support payment how many years can they go without filing their income taxes?

The two have nothing to do with each other. If a court has ordered you to pay child support, you have a legal obligation to pay it regardless of whether you file taxes. If you have a certain amount of income, you have a legal obligation to file a tax return, regardless of your child support status.

Give Yourself a Day or Two?

If you have decided to file your taxes online at the last minute, try to make sure it is at least a day or two before the federal deadline. The reason you should try to give yourself at least a day or two before the deadline is because you need to receive confirmation of your e-file from the IRS. Once the IRS sends you a confirmation that it has received your e-file, then your taxes are deemed to have been legally filed on time. If the IRS sends you a confirmation a day or two after the deadline, then your taxes will be considered late.

If your spouse dies do you file taxes any differently?
