Sincerely apologize. Ask for God's forgiveness. Realize that you are a human being just like the rest of us and we all make mistakes. Don't continue to make the same errors. Once you've asked for God's forgiveness, let it go and don't ever bring it up again. It is over with at that point and God promises us that he will never bring it up to us again once we repent and seek forgiveness. A sincere apology goes a long way. Even if someone doesn't forgive you, you will be able to forgive yourself. Give yourself a pass but be very careful not to continue the behavior that caused the guilt in the first place.

Feeling guilty for something you did? You either admit to doing it, apologize for it and face the consequences. Or you decide you do not care about other people opinions, feelings, perhaps what is legal or morally right and you go on with your life. I'm not saying which you should do, that is for you to decide what is right for you. Now and in the long run. Guilt usually keeps us from doing something that we know we shouldn't or that is going to get us in trouble. Not doing it build character. Not feeling guilty for our actions can cause us to hurt other people when we shouldn't and will usually cause us problems.

How to get rid of it? You don't feel it in the first place and you don't do things that make you feel guilty. I haven't felt guilty about anything in decades. That doesn't mean I haven't done things most of society would say are wrong, I simply do not lie to myself about motivations or what I do. Do it knowingly, aware of the consequences and dealing with the outcome whatever it may be. It's a hard road and not everyone can or should walk it.
