How can you get your long-distance girlfriend to start up the relationship again when you both agreed to take a break from each other?

As much as you may hear that long-distance relationships work it's only 1% that do. People need to see each other to feel, touch and look into each other's eyes (the windows of your soul.) The good old fashion way of actually physically meeting the opposite sex is the best way to go and even then sometimes the relationship doesn't work out. I'm not accusing you of this at all, but wanting you to look at this relationship in a different perspective. What I think has happened to you is the fact that her parents are concerned about this young woman meeting guys over the internet. The police are ripping their hair out because many parents are not aware that there are a lot of porn guys, rapist, stalkers and murderers out there playing around with young girls and pretending to be their boyfriends. Young women have been known to strike up a relationship with a guy (lying through his teeth and probably old enough to be her father) and the next thing she is sending nude photos of herself. These photos are sold to other men that are interested in porn. On and on it goes. I live in Canada and the police are urging parents to check on what their kids are into on the computer. Kids go missing from around here and now with pods they are easily taped. There is a case going on right now where an older man strikes up friendships with young women, becomes a long-distance boyfriend and acting as a boyfriend says he loves her and asks her to undress and "turn him on". Once she does this he has just taped her and he sells that tape on the porn market. There is a special Task Force in British Columbia going after these guys. The problem is a big one. When you go to see your ex girlfriend it's wise to go with your eyes wide open. Be prepared that it may not work out and you can either stay there and have a great adventure in your life or return home. Plan! It's highly possible by going there your ex girlfriend will meet with you in the flesh and see what she's been missing. I highly suggest that you insist that you go to her home so that her parents can meet you and be sure to tell the parents that you requested this. My niece who is 19 years old met a nice young man over the Internet. He insisted on coming out to visit with her and her parents and he stayed with them for 2 days. My niece's parents were smart enough to contact her new boyfriend's parents to be sure everything was on the up and up. Then my niece went to meet him and his parents and stayed with his parents for a week. They had a good relationship, but unfortunately, she decided to travel to Australia and he was settled in a very good job and didn't want to move to Australia so they broke-up. I think it's worth the risk for you to go see your ex girlfriend, but again I stress, you make a point of going to see your girlfriend and meet her parents. It shows maturity and that you have their daughter's best interests at heart. Good luck Here's the thing: you can't pussyfoot around; you won't get anywhere. You can't ask questions - you must shout orders. Try something to the effect of, "LOVE ME NOW!"
