A true friend will stick by you through thick and thin. They are there for you when you need a friend as you should be for them. A true friend will not talk about you behind your back and when others are, they will take up for you. People can have many acquaintenances and may call them friends but most people do not have many "true friends".

∙ 12y agoWell, a true friend is someone you are very close too, whether it's sexually, or whether your just best mates. A true friend doesn't laugh at you just because you have a pink coat or your gay. A true friend respects your opinions, and vice-versa.

∙ 13y agoThis can be very hard to explain, but you'll know when the time comes. You will be able to truly trust them and if they tell you their secrets and stuff they are a true friend because they are trusting you!
One that stands up for you, respects you and that kind of stuff.
If they don't talk about you behind your back and are ALWAYS there for you.
You know there real friends when they are nice to you, and don't say you fancy every person on your bus and they don't tell you all your flaws and update you on how crap your consellor looks also that may want to try being nice and offering advise when your suck in an I.T exam and not steal your best friend and not embarrass you and maybe even say something good about you.

∙ 7y agoA true friend will look after your interests in the same way they look after their own interests , if one friend has a problem then both friends have a problem and the two of you will have mutual interests and concerns . They like what you like .

One of the many things that I have come to realize, to learn, is that sincerity must be reserved and given only to those who deserve it. And one must save one's emotions, channeling them only to the people who are worthy of it. One must not throw one's pearls to the pigs
