If there is too much sugar in a food for you, then DON'T EAT THE FOOD. By removing the sugar you will remove a primary ingredient in that food's recipe, and thus will change the taste of the food. Supplements will only change sugar into something else the media will eventually tell you to hate.
It really depends on the type of food containing the sugar. If the dish is compatible, you could tone down sweetness with a little lemon or lime juice or vinegar. Salt may help just a bit.
