After approximately 15-18 days of a cat pregnancy, you may notice that your pet’s nipples become enlarged and red – this is known as ‘pinking-up’. Similar to morning sickness in humans, your cat may go through a stage of vomiting. Your cat's tummy will start to swell. A mum-to-be will gradually gain between 1-2 kg (depending on the number of kittens she is carrying) - this is a strong sign that she is pregnant. Cats tend to have an increased appetite later in their pregnancy, which will also contribute towards her weight gain. Your pregnant cat may act more maternal, meaning that she purrs more and seeks extra fuss and attention from you.

Look for these five signs to tell if your cat is pregnant. Darkened nipples. At around three weeks, a pregnant cat's nipples will become darker in color and enlarged. Morning sickness. Just like humans, a pregnant cat may also go through a period of being sick occasionally. Swollen belly. Nesting. Positive ultrasound.

When a cat is pregnant, it's pretty much the owner's responsibility to help it maintain a proper level of nutrition and health. That requires the owner to actually know how to care for a pregnant cat and for the owner to know when the cat is pregnant to begin with.

There are certain signs you can look for to determine whether your cat is pregnant. You'll notice that your cat's nipples will begin to grow. This typically will happen by the third or fourth week of the pregnancy. Her nipples will become soft and pink which is called "pinking". You will also notice a significant weight gain in your cat, particularly in the abdominal area. Weight gain, however, typically doesn't appear until the fifth or sixth week or so of the pregnancy. You'll also notice your cat may experience morning sickness. This is quite similar to morning sickness in human women. Cats experience morning sickness because their bodies aren't used to larger uterine organs.

Your pregnant cat will start eating a lot more and demanding a lot more food. After all, it's eating for more than just one! A pregnant cat likely won't start eating more, however, until just a few days before delivery. So when this starts to happen, you can be assured that she's about to give birth.

Further, you'll notice your cat behaving a bit differently than you're accustomed to. Pregnant cats are normally quieter and more loving than they are when they aren't pregnant. Also, you can count on seeing the kittens in the uterus area within a week of delivery. This sometimes freaks some owners out, but it's normal.

It's important for you to notice that your cat is pregnant as early as possible. This allows you time to study how cats react during pregnancies and be best prepared for delivery. In the days leading up to delivery, you want to be sure to prepare a soft place for your mother cat to give birth and another place for her kittens to sleep. The birthing process is often a messy one, but the mother typically will take care of it. You should monitor the newborns as soon as you realize the mother has given birth in order to make sure they're clean and healthy and that the mother is okay.

For the safety of the cats, you should keep the cat inside for the later stages of pregnancy, and for 12 weeks after the birth until she is spayed. Cats, especially when access to outside, can come back in heat soon after giving birth.

You can tell if the cat is pregnant by feeling the cats belly. If you feel little bumps or 'sausage' like things, then your cat could be pregnant. The cat might also be a bit more aggressive than usual, well the neighbourhood cats around my house can get a bit more aggressive. The cat might be seeking warmth and comfort more. The cat could also look a bit more fat. You could also take it to a vet but that costs money.

The cats belly will get larger and she may not like you stroking her there. Her nipples will be more obvious as well.

The cat will eat more and sleep more. She will want you to pet her all the time and she will become very lovable.

If you let your cat outside, or she escaped whilst on heat, there is no way to tell. Once a male mates with a female he is no longer involved, and female cats often mate with more than one male in the process of getting pregnant.

Responsible breeders often take their cats to a stud who is usually a Champion cat and has been in many shows. The cats are supervised and the date of mating and the names of of the cats mated are put on record.

Their stomach start to get bigger and bigger, and then their nipples are easily visible. They meow a lot if you pick them up or squeeze them.

She gets really big, tires easier, sleeps more, and in the later stages her nipples will enlarge. She will also walk funny, like a waddle, because she is so big.

Can a female cat get worms while pregnant?

Yes, it is possible for a female cat to get contracted with worms while pregnant. From what I know, de-wormers are usually not advised for pregnant cats as they may cause birth defects. You can consult with a vet if you are worried about your pregnant cat having worms. Worms can sometimes be dangerous to the kittens if they travel through the mother's milk.

What will happen if your cat is fixed and she is pregnant?

that is actually is not possible unless something went wrong when your cat was getting fixed. vets usually know what they're doing, so something shouldn't have went wrong. I would first contact a vet to make sure your cat is not pregnant.
