Africa, like the other continents, is the product of continental drift. At an earlier period in the Earth's history, there was only one continent, known as Pangaea, and this broke up and formed the continents as we know them today, as a result of the force exerted on the crust by currents in the underlying magma of the mantle. The whole process is essentially random. The shape of Africa is an accident.

The "horn of Africa" got its name form the horn-shaped figure at the east of Africa. The east coast of Africa is shaped like a horned animal, like a rhino.
This is really interesting.... Well, its their ears, you see, if you look really closely, the African elephant has ears shaped like Africa, and the Indian has them shaped like Indiasmaller ears and shorter tusks on Indian elephants. Also, African elephants eat less curry.
North Africa is north of South Africa. It is also south of Northern Ireland, northeast ofWest Africa, and north of a large part of southern Europe.It can really get confusing sometimes, since the Earth is spherical (shaped like a ball),and you can reach anywhere by heading out in almost any direction from anywhere.
