∙ 7y agoHe attempted to initiate it by establishing over 70 Greek-style city-states (over 30 modestly named Alexandria after himself), encouraged Greek language, allowed Greek carpetbaggers to move in, and inducted the children of the Persian aristocracy into Greek life and his army. However his early death curtailed this and it was left to his generals to fight over his empire and establish Hellenistic kingdoms, but these were Greek for only the upper classes, and the mainstream continued their customary cultures.
