he was given a right handed guitar, but turned it upside down and restrung it. then he spent hours and hours learning and perfecting

He learnt by himself.... and copying others when he started.

Cobain liked to claim he taught himself. But in reality he took his first few lessons from his Uncle Chuck.

He used many but some are: a Fender Mustang, a Fender Jaguar, a univox, a Fender strat and a fender jazzmaster. All of these were left handed. he also designed the Fender Jag-Stang.

Good answer above. If you wanna see pics and read more about Kurt Cobain's Guitars, check out this cool website: www.GearoftheGodz.com

Here's info on Kurt's Guitars with some vids ('65 Fender Mustang, Fender Jag-Stang, Martin Acoustic). Cool demo vids too.

The guitars he most often used are Fender Mustangs, Fender Jaguars, Fender Stratocasters, Univox Hi-Flyers and a Gospel Ventures Model. His first Electric Guitar was an Ibanez guitar his uncle bought for him.

Hey used a wide variety of guitars. For his actual playing he used mostly fenders, usually strats, jaguars, mustangs and sometimes his own creation the jag-stang which is the the mustang and jaguar hybrid. For destruction on stage he usually used whatever crap guitar he could find in thrift shops and or Japanease made fenders as they ae cheap and easy to throw a new neck on.

As for acoustics he used a thrift shop guitar to record nevermind with. And used a very high end model Martin acoustic for the unplugged sessions. The Martin however was a right handed version that he restrung and played left handed for obvious reasons.

This description is very brief. If its the sound you are trying to replicate quit now its almost impossible. The closest you will get is through playing a guitar through boss ds-1 cyclone phaser, chorus pedals ect.

Kurt's main guitars were Fenders: the Mustang and Jag-Stang. He also used Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Strats and Teles, and cheap pawn-shop guitars for his thrashing on-stage antics. Many of his guitars were custom and modified. He often used Vintage and hard to find models and makes.

He used a Mosrite Ventures guitar during the Bleach era. He destroyed it in the studio while recording "Endless, Nameless". He did buy a Univox Hi Flier to replace it later. The Univox is a copy of the Mosrite.

That is easy. Flannel, ripped jeans, converse, and a lefty guitar. If you'd like to act like him, however, you'd react with disgust at the idea of conforming to and trying to be exactly like some rock star idol rather than an individual, AKA yourself.

It depends on what you mean.. If you mean the guitar sound you have to get a grunge pedal and a certain guitar (Fender mustang, jaguar,or jagstang) if you mean voice you have to get voice lessons and tell them you want to sound like Kurt cobain

What guitar did Kurt Cobain use on the recording for in bloom?

Not sure what guitar, but Butch Vig mic'd the guitar cab with 4 mics: a Shure SM57, a Sennheiser 421, an AKG C414, and a Neumann U87. Kurt would pick which sound he liked the best.

Can you play guitar without the full use of your left hand?

Well, it depends how little you can use it, but the easiest thing to do might be to learn how to make the chord shapes with your right hand and strum with your left, like Jimi Hendrix or Kurt Cobain.

What guitar pedal did Kurt Cobain use?

I know one time he took a Boss DS-1 and combined it with his own amps drive. Kurt didn't use a lot of effects, but those he did use were very important to his overall tone. Most important to Cobain's sound were his distortion and phaser pedals. The Small Clone Full-Chorus by Electro Harmonix and the SansAmp Tri-A.C. are our two favorites for their unique tone. The Rat2 Distortion is used by lots guitarists for extra OD boost.
