pericles beautifies athens by making more things than weapons with the money sparta etc.. gave them
Pericles promoted the arts and literature; this was a chief reason Athens holds the reputation of being the educational and cultural centre of the ancient Greek world.
Pericles helped improved their lives, by creating a Democracy for them.
by controlling their butts to make them listen
He diverted the money the Delian League, paid for the war fund against Persia, to spending on Athens, including a lavish building programme including the parthenon.

Pericles was not a democracy. Pericles was a statesman in Athens and was considered today as a general. Pericles did not make Democracy. The people of Greece did.

Pericles
Athens became very powerful and more democratic
Athens became very powerful and more democratic
He had a list of things to do and just did them his own way.
None, if you mean that they helped him to get more powerful. Pericles belonged to one of the ruling families of Athens. When he showed sufficient promise, these families put him in ever-more important positions. In politics, Pericles did work to give the 'lower classes' more political rights. His reasons for doing this however had much to do with his need for this group to serve as sailors and soldiers and fight for Athens.
Yes, I think Pericles probably embezzled four or five times more money than Madoff stole. Where did he steal the money from? From the Delian League's treasury, which was moved to Athens from Delos immediately when Pericles was entitled "general." Pericles built the Acropolis in Athens with this money, was tried for stealing the money, and talked his way out of the trial.
Pericles had been educated by some of the leading philosophers of his day. Pericles was strongly influenced by Aspasia, a female philosopher and courtesan from Miletus, who lived in Athens, Greece. He was also influenced by his great uncle, Cleisthenes. Cleisthenes had given Athens its first democratic constitution. Pericles was determined to continue the reforms of his great uncle and serve his city-state by making it more democratic than ever.
he led the big wars like the Trojan war & much more
He encouraged the idea
Pericles was an Athenian general and political leader who succeeded his mentor Ephialtes who was murdered in 460 BCE by the aristocrats for reintroducing democracy in Athens. Pericles took the democracy to a more extreme stage where the assembly of citizens made the decisions and the Council of 5000 implemented them. He led Athens into a war with the Peloponnesian League led by Sparta. He died of plague a couple of years into the 27-year war, so we don't know if he could have guided Athens safely out of the war he brought on.
