How did The Who influence 70's music?
Mostly through the burgeoning punk movement. While bands like the New York Dolls and MC5 were early groundbreakers for punk ethos, the Who were forefathers of the punk rock trend. Bands like The Clash, who despised "old fart bands" like Yes and Led Zeppelin, still attributed much credit to The Who for their punk mindset and rebellious, loud, destructive, and nihilistic image portrayed in the 1960s.

Music affects people today in so many ways. It's a way of expressing yourself and putting your mind in a different place. Whether you listen to pop, hip hop, rap, or rock, mus…ic lets you be your own individual. It inspires people to take action, help people deal with their pain or share love for someone else. For me personally, if I just had an awful day and I need to forget about it, I turn to music. Or if something amazing just happened that words cannot describe, I turn my Ipod on and let the songs say it all. Music is a huge part of our culture because it can completely change someone's frame of mind and lets them know that whatever they're feeling, they're not alone.
