He as inspired while at a generic amusement park with his two daughters, while there where things for them to do, there was very little for the parents to with their children. He thought he could do something better.

∙ 7y agoDisney's doctor suggested he find a hobby to escape the pressure of the studio. Disney had always loved railroads but he found out that his two top people were also into railroads and one was building a backyard railroad. Walt decided to make is own backyard railroad and the next thing that happened is he came up with the idea of putting a railroad around the studio. Before long there was the start of Disneyland.
