Female woolly mammoths lived in herds of related females and their calves. Adult males probably lived alone. They probably spent 20+ hours grazing per day, and spent other time sleeping. At the same time, females and calves found enough time to socialize. They would have constantly moved around to find more food and to avoid overgrazing any one area.
