After Napoleon was defeated, the territory reverted back to it's inhabitants. The Belgains formed a political party called Prothiests, and declared independence from all foreign bodies. Prussians were outraged and sent Hessians to occupy the territory. After a 2 year war between Belgain rebels and Hessian troops, (known as the Brohamtine war), the French government signed a treaty with the Belgain parlament to supply arms and aid during the struggle. The Hessians quickly withdrew their forces and signed a non-aggression treaty. Belgium became solely independent on February 14th, 1830.

Congo is a French colonization. Congo won its independence in 1960. From this day 4/30/12 Congo has had 50 years of independence. Congo had to go though many years to get there independence from Belgium. Independence for Congo followed a strange course of events unlike anything else in the rest of Africa. In 1960 Belgium granted Congo independence after it held a conference in Brussels. They tried to negotiate terms but the Congolese wanted independence quickly. Belgium granted it to Congo. The King of Belgium came and it was all good. A big ceremony occurred too.
