1. The inept Italian attack on Greece compelled the Germans to delay operation Barbarossa for one month, a tragic loss of time. 2.The need for German forces in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Noeway, Greece, Yoguslavia and of course in N. Africa, seriously limited the availability of reinforcements for the armies fighting in russia. 3. These manpower shortages compelled the Germans to use allied troops[ Rumanians, Hungarians and Italians], to be responsible for vulnerable sections of the front to the west and south of Stalingrad. In the winter of 1942, the Russians attacked these allied troops and broke through to encircle the German 6th Army and part of 4th Panzer Army. these forces,[250,000], were destroyed. The Germans never did recover from this enormous loss of men and equipment. 4. The Luftwaffa did not have long range bombers with which to impede Russian industrial production. 5. This industrial capacity was much greater than the Germans anticipated. 6. The relentless U.S. and British bombing of German industry caused shortages of heavy equipment,[tanks, planes, self propelled guns etc. These shortages were particularly harmful to the Russian front where the armies were operating over a vast expanse of territory. 7. Germany's severe losses in men and equipment combined with the cumulative effect of the above plus the seemingly limitless Russian resources of men and equipment led to the inevetable collapse. Hope this is helpful.

The Germans were severly unprepared for the Russian winter.

The true reason for the defeat of Germany was the following:

First you have to take in consideration that Germany was way more powerful Economicaly, politicaly and The Nazi's were way more powerful then the Soviet Union. The simple fact that russia even stood close to Germany was all Propaganda because of course they won, which gives them the 100% power to give there story and not look at the facts. The true reason and the only reason why The Nazi's were defeated was because of the mis-calculation of the weather in Russia during the winter time. This resulted in Many deaths to the Germans and putting many of them in critical condition unable to fight. If you want to put this in terms that make more sence, it was as if Russia faught an army that was unequiped and probably only had 1/10 of there army because of the deaths of the climate.

The Russians defeated Nazi Germany because of what the Germans did to the civilian population of Mother Russia when Hitler's armies invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. When the Nazis retreated, millions of Russians were executed for helping out partisans who operated behind German lines and for being Jewish.

At first it looked as though the Nazis were going to defeat Russia. However, three things prevented this. First, Hitler changed his mind about attacking Moscow and chose, instead, to use his forces to take the capital of the Ukraine-Kiev. Second, the Germans didn't expect to arrive in Russia so early, during the cold, frosty winter that is known as the "General Winter." Third, the Russians used their newest tanks -- the T-34/76 and the KV-1 -- in the Battle of Moscow. The T-34/76 had sloped armor, which deflected the shells fired by the Panzer IVs. Consequently, the Russian tank crews were able to destroy the Panzer units with no problem.

As with every one of the Allied countries, they won by overwhelming numerical superiority and Lend Lease. The Soviets (please capitalize your proper nouns) had five times the population of Germany and received thousands of tanks and airplanes from England and the USA. It is estimated some 20 million Soviets died in the war, of which a third were military personnel.

Other major factors were the Soviets generally had more flexible tactics and a willingness to pull back and let the German Army overextend itself. Hitler and his planners thought the Soviets would surrender quickly and were not prepared for a drawn out winter campaign. The winter hurt both sides, and in Leningrad, over a million people starved to death during the German siege.

One overlooked point is the excellent designs of Soviet equipment. The Soviets had some nasty surprises for the Germans in the form of the T-34, Katyusha, and the Sturmovik. Much has been said about Stalin's leadership, but the Soviets, particularly the Russians, were fighting for their country, not their leaders.

Wars are complicated affairs. The original question is poorly worded. No single nation defeated Germany, the Soviets were part of a globe-spanning network that as a group together won--but it took years and billions of dollars to do so. Always remember, credit must be given to the Soviets for bearing the largest burden and inflicting the greatest defeats on Germany during WWII. In comparison to Stalingrad and Kursk, things like D-Day were expensive side-shows.

The Battle of Stalingrad how did it helped the allies?

The victory over the Germans at the battle for Stalingrad on the Eastern Front meant that the Germans were effectively fighting a two-front war . This meant that the Germans were forced to divide the bulk of their resources to fight both the Russians on the Eastern Front as well as the Allies on the Western Front . The Allies knew that complete victory over the Germans was then inevitable for had the Germans defeated the Russians then the Germans would then be able to commit their full resources to thwart any effort on the part of the Allies to invade and defeat the Germans who no longer had two fronts to fight on in the war . The Russian victory at Stalingrad meant that the Russians could indeed defeat German efforts and the Allies were encouraged by this who were then committed to the eventual defeat of Germany now having confidence that their Russian allies were capable of turning the tide of war against the Germans .
