The Huns moved from Asia (possibly to the north of China) westward, driving the eastern European Goths and Vandals into central and Western Europe. The Roman Empire tried to absor these peoples, but was effectively absorbed by them.

The Huns had some success in attacking the Roman Empire, but became disorganised, and were absorbed by these more cohesive peoples who took over the Western Roman Empire.
