The flu (influenza) did not exist in the Americas before Europeans arrived. So, as hard as it is to imagine, natives never got sick as we know it.

When Europeans came to the Americas, they brought their diseases and killed millions of Natives with their germs.

So to answer your question, they never had to deal with the flu, so they had no known remedies.

Although each tribe had their own ways, generally speaking the American Indian believed in cleanliness of the body (much more so than the invading whites). They also new the properties and abilities of the plants around them with regard to their medicine value. Equally important were the prayers and healing ceremonies.

They actually did not die from the flu or small pox the native Americans really died because some Indian agents (who were corrupt) sold the clean warm blankets to get money to buy blankets that had been used in hospitals and had sickness on them.
