Answer 1

It has been around since God created it. Its not gazillions of years old. Dont believe that crud. It all a lie. The universe has no real creation date. Please read The Bible, it will help open your eyes to so much knowledge. I'm not begging, just a suggestion to the reader.

Answer 2

The latest astronomical data shows the universe to be around 13.7 billion years old.

The universe is a manifestation of the Divine. The universe appears to be what we see. But in reality, the universe is nothing but energy. Because everything in this universe is made up of matter and every particle of matter is nothing but energy. This is not a spiritual statement, this is a scientific principle that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed from one form to another. It is energy that transforms to matter and matter transforms back to energy. Therefore, this entire universe is nothing but energy, energy that appears as you and me, as the mountains and the seas but in reality everything is energy, everything is Divine energy. That is the reality of the universe.

We believe that THIS universe was formed in a "big bang" about 14 billion years ago. Interesting recent speculations suggest - and this is by NO means an accepted view! - that this universe may have been preceded by a series of other universes, perhaps each with its own "big bang" followed by a "big crunch"; a sort of cyclical universe theory. We have no way of knowing how long each cycle might last, or whether the idea of "cycles" even makes sense in any real context.

The Big Bang Theory makes no statement whatsoever on what happened at the start of the Universe -- it only discusses what has happened since expansion started. The hypothesis, for which there is overwhelming observational evidence, simply states that all space in our Universe has been expanding apart from all other parts of our Universe at a (more or less) steady rate throughout its history. HOW the expansion started, or where matter and space came from in the first place, is left completely un-answered. In that sense it's no different from the Laws of Gravity -- it deals ONLY with what can be known through observation.

The univeres has expanded and it was recently discovered that the universe is expanding much faster than was originally thought. Also, objects within the universe are constantly changing, such as the birth and death of stars, expanding and/or contraction of gas clouds, and objects in motion (the spinning of galaxies and solar systems, rogue stars or planets) are constantly changing.

The theory began by (a) calculations, according to which a static Universe could not be stable in the long term, and (b) observations, that most galaxies are moving away from us (according to the redshift, caused by the Doppler effect). Thus, the Universe is expanding.

The Big Bang Theory can so far only describe what our Universe was like after it began to expand -- it can NOT (so far) tell us what happened right at the start of that expansion, or what happened "before" (if that term has meaning).

Prior to about 10^-40 seconds after the start of expansion, our understanding of our Universe breaks down. It's like our understanding of lightning in the sky; our understanding of our atmosphere is not good enough to explain where lightning comes from. We're also a lot like Kepler, who knew that planets orbited our Sun in eliptical orbits but could not explain WHY.

The method of the formation of the universe is best explained by the Big Bang Theory.

At some point, a massive "explosion" of "material" occurred. This material was composed of the superforce. It was all tightly compacted in a small space. Then, it all exploded. As it expanded creating space and time as it went, the energy density decreased. Eventually as the universe became sufficiently large with the expansion of spacetime, matter formed.Matter, as in substance, behaving as it does, created stars, and galaxies formed. Expansion continued until we see the universe as we do today, and the "echo" or "aftershock" of the Big Bang is seen as cosmic background microwave radiation. to make it more simpler, lets take the example of holding your breath.Over time, you would of have to open you mouth and breathe. The explosion was caused in the same way.The superforce was constantly expanded and moving that it couldn't be stay inside what was holding it all together.

This is a short version of the formation of the universe through Big Bang. Note that there are whole books on this subject. There are many theories, but this is the theory that most scientist believe. This answer has been based on User:Quirkyquantummechanic.Ihave only expanded on his answer to make ot more clearer.

The exact date is not known. Most data indicates that it's somewhere in the 12-15 billion year range. === === Wikipedia states... "Current theory and observations suggest that the universe is between 13.5 and 14 billion years old."

The time of the universe, I would say....... HMmm. That's a good question. I would say 0:00, because since the universe isn't rotating there really is no real time. Well, the universe it still, unless it revolves its self. Well, that's impossible. Or maybe it turns its self inside out. Or it'll spilt in two and rotate. I don't know.
