A traditional Brazilian Christmas dinner includes a turkey marinated in champagne among many other tasty ingredients. Dinner is usually served after the family arrives home from Midnight Mass celebrated on Christmas Eve. Giblet dressing made from manioc meal in a dish called called farinha de mandioca is enjoyed. There is a host of side items in the feast. A dessert called Brazilian flan is a favorite.
Rich people : chester and panettone. Poor people : torresmo, ovo frito, arroz com feijão, batata frita e frango assado e uma caipirinha para acompanhar.

∙ 13y agoWell all our Christmas traditions are directly imported from the U.S so there are many similarities with Xmas in America. We decorate the Christmas tree and decorate our houses. We buy gifts. We make children believe that the gifts come from Santa, etc. One funny thing is that most decorations have a lot of fake snow even though here in Brazil, December is a summer month. It is because everything in Xmas is from U.S traditions.
Brazil has a strong catholic tradition but people aren't really religious so Xmas is more like just a holiday to buy a lot the things and to be with people that you love.
Of course there are too many people that are religious and go to churches and other celebrations.

They eat pork and fish, sometimes eat beef. They eat white rice or rice Greek. They also eat manioc flour, lentils and many fruits.
For dessert they can eat panettone, rabanada, cakes or puddings.
